I have been thinking of an anti-caster/energy drainer Mesmer since the last beta, and i have a build the i just came up with a few days ago. I dont include attributes to the exact point, because i dont want to take more time putting them in. you can tell what attribs i will put in my my spells. bold means elite skill.

Build Variation 1
Mesmer/Ranger

Attributes to max or get:
Marksmanship
Domination Magic
Fast casting (not too much because daze takes care of the counters)
Inspiration magic
Illusion magic (a little for imagined burden)

Skills:
1. Concussion Shot - If Concussion Shot hits while target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and your target is dazed for 5-17 seconds. This attack deals only 1-13 damage.
2. Savage Shot - If Savage Shot hits, your target's action is interrupted. If that action was a spell, you strike for 13-25 damage.
3. Power Block - If target foe is casting a spell, that spell is interrupted. The interrupted spell and all spells of the same attribute are disabled for 3-13 seconds for that foe. This is an elite skill.
4. Backfire - For 10 seconds, whenever target foe casts a spell, that foe takes 35-119 damage.
5. Energy Tap - Steal 8-13 energy from target foe.
6. Power Leak - If target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and target foe loses 10-22 energy.
7. Imagined Burden - For 8-18 seconds, target foe moves 50% slower than normal.
8. Spirit Shackles - For 8-24 seconds, target foe loses 5 energy whenever that foe attacks.

My plan is that i use concussion shot first. then i cast power block when a monk is using a healing spell. Then energy tap, power leak if they use a different attribute spell, imagined burden if they run away, and shackles if they start attacking me. Backfire and savage shot will be my main dmg spells. Then when the enemy is not dazed anymore, use concussion shot again. energy tap and power leak drain their energy, so they are completely powerless. the cycle goes on until they are dead.

Skills:
Same as above, except:
1. Concussion shot replaced with Arcane Conundrum - For 6-25 seconds, spells cast by target foe take twice as long to cast.
2. Savage Shot replaced with Power Spike - If target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and target foe takes 20-86 damage.

Plan is the same as above except use arcane conundrum instead of concussion shot, where applicable, and same with savage shot and power spike.

any suggestions or changes? comments would be helpful. this is my first build that i thought out for a while.
