WTH there is no double post there???? It's a completly different topic.

/ANNOYED!

*edit*
And if there has been a mistake ... no harm done. Except moderators should be careful where they throw around acusations and warnings.. I mean jeeze gale gray even quotes that post later on in the thread.

Sloppy moderating makes for poor forums.

Muted : as not to name names. This is not a personal attack rather a WTH post?

The "double post" guideline was being reinforced on those posts, Myth.

Quote:
In these forums, a double posts consists of any two consecutive posts from the same user. It does not matter whether or not the contents differ -- if no one else's words or opinions come between two posts from the same person, it's a double post.

As the EDIT button will never disappear, you can always go back to edit your last post and add new thoughts. The practice of "bumping" is highly discouraged in these forums. If people wish to respond to your thread, they will add their opinions without the need of repeated spammed "bumps." Repeated "bumping" of a thread will most likely lead to the thread's deletion, instead.

Recently, there has been a rather large rash of double posting. Since the forums are growing extremely fast, and the moderators have limited time, those who ignore the edit button and repeatedly double/triple/quadruple post can have their second, third, fourth, etc, posts deleted without notice, and without having their contents pasted onto the first post as per usual.

To summarize, please do NOT double post for your sanity and for ours. No one likes to have their words deleted, and the mods do not like to have their time entirely consumed copying and pasting, so please keep our boards clean, and use the edit button. Your posts were combined into a single post rather than one following another in rapid succession.

Myth Osis:
I'll admit that we do have mods and admins, but due to the massive amounts of posts we have everyday on these forums, we most often do not have the time involved to tell every single person via PM:

"I deleted your double post, please avoid doing that in the future."
or
"I merged your two posts to avoid the double posting problem."
Etc etc...

Each of those PM's (depending upon the connection of the mod+ user) can take from 30 seconds and up per person. Thats at least 1 minute out of their day for two people, sending those people a quick one lined message. So thats about 120 people in an hour, NOT including the huge post count we review to make sure theres nothing offensive mentioned in any threads.

This job takes up quite a bit of time from our lives, so we do try out best, sometimes we just find that hour long PM session to be better used in other things durning our day.

I hope that can help you understand why not all of us send you a PM with a 'Why' type of message. It just takes a lot of time to send it to everyone who had a posting problem.

Once upon a time..

Myth, since you insist on dragging this out into the public, let us reveal everything, why don't we?

I deleted your double post. In addition, and at the same time, I sent you this PM:

Hello,

This is a notice that your double post in this thread has been deleted. In these forums, a double post is any two consecutive posts from the same user, regardless of whether or not the content differs. For more information, please look at the sticky at the top of the Riverside forum.

Please do not double post again in the future. The "edit" button is always there if you wish to add something, and the act of "bumping" is frowned upon in these forums. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me, or any other mod or admin.

Thank you
Aria You replied saying, "I have read the rules and not double posted." You also asked me to explain. I replied subsequently with the exact post numbers: Posts number 21 and 22. Second post three minutes after the first. (For clarification, when post 22 was deleted, post 23 was bumped up to 22, etc).

Now, where have I not adequately explained myself? I not only directed you to the sticky in Riverside, but I also re-explained the rules in my first PM. In the future, please read either more slowly, or more carefully.

As this is a drama thread, and has neither evidence nor proof to back up any claims (on the contrary, I believe that every claim put up by Myth has been disproved quite thoroughly), I'm closing this thread.

Please feel free to ask the moderators and the admins questions, and don't hesitate to PM for clarification on any modding action. However, posting a gripe thread like this when plain and clear evidence to the contrary lies right before your eyes is not only a waste of your time, but also of mine.

And I see you've double posted again in this thread.. Please follow the rules, and quite simply, don't double post.

Second warning.

Closed.
