First off, yes I did search the forums. You search for "Fissure pointers" and see how many threads come up("FoW/UW," "underworld," "Under World," etc. don't bring up anything).


I've just beat the game, well Hells Precipice Mission anyways, and I want to start doing FoW and UW runs, but I havn't the slightest clue what to do and I don't want to be a complete and utter idiot. So I got a few questions.

1.Does everyone in the group hafta pay the 1k, or just the leader?
2.Greneth is for the UW and Balthazar for FoW, right?
3.Anyone got skill reconmendations for a Mesmer?
4.Are there Mesmer bosses(ie would it be worth bringing Sig o Capture? Or just spells?)?
5.Any general pointers?

5. First dont talk to any NPCs until told if you are new, Some quests spawn more monsters and make it impossible for some teams.
Getting a good group is one of the keys.
Do not aggro anything unless someone pulls
Listen to your team they will guide you

Getting into a good group seems pretty hard to do I noticed. Actually, getting into a group at all isn't easy.

I haven't made it to FoW/UW yet, but it sounds like from what I've heard the you're right Bourbon. It seems that people are using all ranger groups or a group that doesn't require a certain profession type. In your case as an Elementalist I wouldn't think it hard to get into a group, but it might be. In some cases though it my be tough to get into a group, but that's why you can have 4 characters. So that you can have a ranger to get in those ranger groups and have a monk to get into HoH groups no trouble. Now again I haven't been to FoW or UW yet so if my impression from others is way of please correct me.

Found a great group. Did the first 5k and 10k exp quests, then some one had to leave, but we kept going, eventually got the the quest where we can see what we can craft at the forge. Then things went down hill, some one else had to go right before that and we were now a 6 man team, eventually we got our ass handed to us by those damn cave spiders, with myself and the monk alive, I sacrificed my self so he could live. Some people thought it was over and it was down to a 4 man group, two warriors, a monk, and myself. We complete the quest(killing four of the seeds) with that set up. Now I just need to get the 105 Ecotplasim and Obsidion Shards for the Enchanters set.

bribe a ranger team to let you tag along in return for paying for the trip. Then you can sit back and do nothing while you watch the rangers pwn the crap out of everything.

I hate that monk build...us rangers used to be able to brag that it only takes 3 of us to make a UW run...now those monks have bragging rights

Its fun to be able to do it in a small team like that. The monks in my clan get together and do it often in tiny teams. Feels like a bigger accomplishment than doing it with a group of 8.

also anyone in your group can pay the 1k, not just the leader. all they got to do is talk to the spirt and say the group is ready... and off you go.

we often alternate who pays instead of giving money from each person. I always make sure everyone gets something good. If I get two chos axes And someone else only got minor stuff, I give them one. Or something liek that. its not a rule its just the nice thing to do. Depends on wht you feel like doing.

There are no bosses for SoC so don't bother bringing it. its of no use down there.

Sorry I have no tips for mesmer, I have not touched that profession as of yet, but I'm sure others will have some good build to suggest... memsmers are normally the shutdown party members for the Caster mobs.

There IS actually a boss in the FOW She's a monk boss and you have to kill her for one of the quests. Army of darkness i belive its called. You can get the quest from the ghost next to the one who gives you the quest to clear the forge.

3. For Fissure, bring lots of hex removal and enchantment removal, maybe even arcane echo or echo so you can pump them out faster. I found hex removal to be excellent source of dmg in Fissure.

5. Be careful, pay attention, and don't talk to ghosts until your leader says its ok.

AHH thanks spike I had not found that one yet. I don't seem to go to fissure much anymore for some reason... humm I'll have to rectify that..

Also, anyone hear any more on the new bonus area from the Lyssa's Muse Spirit. I only saw the original post on it and nothing more. so I was wondering if it is a planed updated...

We also still have Avatar of Dwayna
And Melandru's Watcher of course
that has no interesting reason for being in the temple of ages YET!!! so maybe in the future those 3 other spirits will take you someplace as well...

We saw Avatar of Dwayna get a quest in the last big update in the Sardelac Sanitarium. It would be nice to have something with her in the temple of ages as well...
