Trapper before oath shot

hi. this is my first post, so bear with my n00biness. i'm playing a ranger in pve and want to play as a trapper, the few times i've used traps in the game it's been successful and rewarding. the problem is i'm lvl 18 and haven't gotten the oath shot elite skill to recharge all my skills (i'm not that far into the game yet). so i plant the traps and then i'm stuck for 20 secs, shooting useless arrows around...

does anyone have a suggestion how i can get my traps to recharge faster? bringing quickening zephyr is not welcome among casters, and serpents quickness just doesnt seem to work for me for some reason (maybe because i'm using whirling defenses and it's 2 stances at the same time - is that possible?)

any help would be appreciated.

Well even if you could cast traps all the time, it wouldnt be very helpful, since you dont have enough energy to coninuously trap. The break during recharge gives you the time to regenerate energy.

You could use serpents quickness to speed up the regarcge a bit, though.
