Perhaps just a GW profile website would be more useful? You would make an account and you could have a space to say, advertise your Droknar running? You could also list the people you didn't enjoy playing with. There could be a rating system too.

Isn't it against forum policy to name names?

Don't turn this to "the hate list" like the one in DOTA (warcraft 3). If they (some useast dota mods) couldn't beat you, they hate-listed you.

The OP and you have something in common: you decide alone.

The OP decides to put up a dicklist with names he thinks they deserve it.

Is there such a big difference?
Well the main difference is when I find I've a disliking for someone in-game I say what needs to be said, then put them on my ignore list. As opposed to gathering up all their names and putting it on an official "griefer" list which I then distribute to the masses as the "official" blacklist of supposed-assholes.

You get the idea.

There were 2 entries on the list when I checked. This says to me this is just some selfish attempt to complain about people that annoyed the author. A serious attempt at this would scour the boards and compile the names of alleged scammers. Also the the list would have the word Alleged in the title. Some boards do allow naming of names BTW.

Bad idea in my view, too much room for abuse.

I don't know how everyone manages to meet so many douche's because I have never had to ignore even ONE person.

This list could grow so big how are you going to check it each time you party or trade with someone? Unless you want to search the list each time and how many people will do that? The list will only serve as a revenge and griefing medium.

Quite simply a blacklist doesn't work, the sheer volume of idiots is too great. It would be far to large to remember. I run into 20+ morons a day easily. Go to LA 1, just try and count the idiots. It just ends up being too cumbersome and people stop paying attention to it.

Quite simply the way you have to do it is form a whitelist of people who aren't idiots. People aren't allowed in the party unless they are on the whitelist or okayed by someone on the whitelist.

On the other hand it would be very nice of Arena.net to write a blacklist function into guild wars. The blacklist would be stored locally (make it a text file so people can append and create their own.) If a blacklisted person joined your party it would be marked. From there you choose what they do.

It could be a simple format

name;offense
name;offense

Then guild wars has a little mark appear by their name, if you mouse over it a small blurb about the offense pops up.

I use the ignore function and use that to be on the lookout for tools.

It's ok to tell people about how you feel about them.
But even if you express your disliking to them, it can be done without using foul language etc.

But depending on how many 'colourful metaphors' you use while explicitly expressing your feelings towards another person, you might only make matters worse.

And to get back on-topic:
This thread is about a blacklist of people who are supposedly no-good.
Why not make a white-list of people that are actually good?

It still is a platform for abuse, but at least it's a positive list, and I'm sure the list of fun-to-game-with people is way shorter than the list of omg-not-that-character-again people.

The original poster is just spamming a website with 2 people he didn't like in game. I'm tempted to start a site and do the same just to express how rediculous this is.

Wouldn't it be better to share your good experiences over the bad? A 'whitelist' or what have you. Instead of telling us who to avoid, how about telling us who could help us out?

And as it has been mention, photoshop gurus could ruin everyone's life. Unless you have the picture of the group and can get everyone in the group to vouche for it I really don't see anyway of getting this to work.
