This skill is appauling IMO. It basically means that for 10 energy you can deal 17 damage to a foe. hmm.... Have I missed something here.

lol...that's retarded. Retribution does the same thing without the energy loss.

It also used to end when the energy ran out.
As far as I can remember, it's never really been good.
On the other hand, it's fun for a stint in the arena as a signet-user.
Retribution+Holy Wrath to return most attack damage with Watchful Spirit and Signet of Devotion for healing.
Otherwise, I can't imagine a context where it'd actually be practical.
On a side note, the damage Retribution and Holy Wrath deal is actually Holy, and does additional damage to Undead and necromancers wearing the -holy AL armor.

[Apologies for the double-post, while I could edit my above one, I'd prefer to seperate a correction from an opinion]
While you maintain this "Enchantment", whenever target ally takes attack damage, this spell deals 66% of the damage back to the source (maximum 5-41) and you lose 10 energy.
For attributes 0-12.
Exact equation-
5+3N, where N = smiting prayers.

It does not end when out of energy - and this is the best part. Some builds use it with their warriors which are adrenalin user - so they don't worry bout the spell. If not removed in time it can bring nasty surprise to the spikers.

Im not sure why anyone would take this skill unless...
Is it true it doesnt end when you run out of energy? If its true then its only useful for Warrior/Monk Monk/Warrior using adrenal skills only.

Maintained enchantments only end if you have no energy and net energy degen. (One or more pips pointing towards the empty side.) Or if they say they end when you run out, like Protective Bond.
It's still not useful, though, even on an adrenal w/mo, because Life Bond is so much better for that.

I played around with this.. although you will have no energy left it will stay active and working. One of the few sneaky ways to use this in PVE would be a 3 way farming. A good warrior surrounded by a bunch of trolls or equivilent. 2 monks have 4 enchanments burning at the same time (since they won't have energy anyways might as well have them running). the monks use the same enchanments on the warrior or they can mix it up. But for example on the warrior is holy wrath x2, retribution x2, mending x2, and maybe a life bond or life barrier x2. and if needed the monks can use signets to heal the warrior. but I think this could work.
Mercury Angel
The same enchantment cast twice on an ally doesn't stack.
And I'm not really sure if Life Bond/Barrier apply before or after Holy Wrath, but it could be counterproductive, depending on that.

I'm going to have lots of fun with Holy Wrath, Retribution and signet skills i think in PvP

Symbol of Wrath isn't in the smiting spells... I think you forgot to add this one or miss named it.

Otherwise, I can't imagine a context where it'd actually be practical. Enter Healbot, queen of impractical farming! This was from a long time ago, when there weren't other continents to visit.
