Decisions... Decisions...(Warrior/Necromancer) 1.5k armor decisions
FujiwaraKazuma
I finally reached Droknar's Forge and I'm ready to buy my 1.5k armor. Problem is, I'm not sure what to buy. I do use a lot energy when it comes to my blood magic, but at the same time, a lot people say I need defense. I'm not sure which armor to get. I mean, it would be nice to have some extra energy, but I just don't know.
The only armor I have hte materials for is the Gladiators armor. Everything else is out of my reach, with materials knocking back more than 4k off my 13 plat. I'm afraid that I'm not going to have enough to buy plaitmail, knight, or ascalon armor if i try to buy the materials for it.
So, overall, money-wise and battle wise, which armor should I spend my 13k on? Of course, im going to do 15 k later, but that's much later in the game, so can anyone help decide for me?

The Destroyer
I went with gladiators at first but in the later missions it just doesnt keep you alive long enough to justify the extra energy at the expense of the extra armor. I would save up for knights or plate witha sup absorbtion rune.

So i would say buy the Gladit. One,as like u said u use alot of Energy. So with the Platemail one uget max20 mana if u use a Shield. With the Gladi. one u get 28 mana with a shield.
So if u comb. them with a Focus or something u can reach 40 mana with the Gladit.Armor.Believe me i had both ( 50k ). Only thing is the Energy u gain, thats all.
From stats = platemail is a bit better then gladit. armor, but u get only 20 mana.
Up to u

I'm not really sure what you said, but I think you said that with Platemail, you get max 20 mana if i use a shield of any kind while with the gladiator, i get only 28 mana?
What?
I know Platemail/Knight is better by a long shot, but I'm still confused. I'm ready to take the plunge and spend, but I need someone to break the tie and/or give me a really GOOD reason why I should use this or that.
Thanks to the people so far. Need more opinions.

Plommon
platemail is actually worse against physical damage than gladiators but is better vs other damage.
Platemail 85+ 10 vs physical
Gladiator 80+ 20 versus physical
Platemail 85+ 10 vs physical
Gladiator 80+ 20 versus physical

Well, I ended up buying the Knight gear, draining my 13k I had in my inventory to a mere 900 G. Still, I'm happy I made the change from Gladiator. Judging from the armor prices, its the second most worth-ful armor, and even if it had the same armor equilivant to Gladiator's, I still get reduced damage from attacks. Plus, my brother says it looks better and is better than Gladiators. I'm not sure if my brother is correct, but I wasted all the money I had so might as well stick with it. Thanks guys for all your help.

I originally bought platemail for my W/N but then switched to Gladiator's and have been much happer. The extra energy is totally worth it. You can make up for the armor loss by slapping a +5 armor on your weapon or even a +7 vs elemental since the gladiator's already has such good AL vs physical.

While u use a Shield , the max Mana u get :
With Paltemail / Knights / Forges / Uw / Fow Armor
is 20 mana, while carrying a shield ( any type ) 20 is max.
Same with Gladi. Armor
is 28 mana, while carrying a shield ( any type ) 28 is max.
If u dont carry a shield ( u dont like them or whatever ), u can use a
Sword or Axes ( 1 hand ) and use a focus item which gives u a plus of 10 mana i guess or more.
Hammer Warriors no chance to increase mana !!
so with paltem. ( no SHIELD ) i guess max is 30 or so and with Gladi Armor ( no Shield ) max should be 40 mana.

Buying full knights armor is a mistake. In almost all circumstances, one piece of knights armor with everything else gladiators is the best combination. You only need one piece of knights armor to receive the reduction bonus to apply to everything. That means getting hit in the chest wearing knights boots will result in the same reduction of damage.
The gladiator armor is just slightly worse against magical damage, but slightly better against physical. As an added bonus, gladiator armor gives a pretty hefty mana boost.

Yea, there's really no question here. Full glad's with your respective +1 to attribute cap and knight's boots.
Memnon's Mentor
Alternatively to the Knight's boots I'd recommend the Ascalon 15k boots

Gladiator's for extra energy, with Knight's Boots for the absorbtion effect (no, it doesn't stack, and yes, it's universal, meaning you only need 1 piece for the full effect). If you're a hammer warrior, get the Stonefist Guantlets. Get the helm that gives +1 to your Weapon Mastery attribute.
Old Dood
When I armored up my warrior ar Droknar's I went with Knight Armor except for the Helm and the Gauntlets. I got Gladiator in those. That gave me a total of 22 mana. That was plenty for self heals/Rez and a few enchantments.
