You know what I really hate? Runners in the arena. You have 4 people, and you tear down the group, but there is always that last one which decides to run around in circles wasting my time. I'm not asking to instantly kill them if they don't have res, or to slow them down or anything. Yes I insult you if you run, it aggrovates me. All I'm asking is.. please stop running, it is honorable and you don't look like a 12 year old, I swear I won't rub it in your face that we won, I never do, only if you run I will.

This is not really a problem in tournament, a 8 man team can take down a runner, but in team arena *hangs him self*

Those who run are usually newbies who think it helps, and who eventually run into a dead end due to not knowing the map. Those who run and don't mess up are just utter morons, since they know the only thing they'll accomplish is waisting everyone's time. If you're bringing an offensive character into random arena, bring a snare so we can ignore this stalemate. It's just that common.

Everyone runs when they're low on life, I actually base my game on people running when low, i'm set up to bulls strike and cripple people as they try and run and i have both sprint and rush just to make sure I can catch them.

It's just another part of the GW game, if Anet wanted to remove it they could make you run 10% - 20% faster when attacking then just moving, or make hits on someones back crit everytime.

Just take the nessacary tools to do the job.

And they are stupid enough to believe that running works, because you are going to leave.
In fact those who leave a runner eraly make ~3 WINS while the runner still runs in circles!

All that happens is that the runners team leaves and the runner wastes 20 minutes in one last attempt.
its a lose-lose situation.

but its not only running on 4V4, its also the just as stupid "lets wait till thy fight each other" in the 8x6v6 Arenas.

Runners in arenas are nothing there is no threat there is nowhere to run.

Runners in tombs ARE LAME AS ALL F'IN RED ENGINE ETC ETC. These people force you to camp their teams bodies and if you leave them they go and res with their noob DPs and attempt to get revenge on you for slaughtering them. It's absolutely pathetic.

These people get the worst of my insulting. These people should be hit by cars. True it seems harsh to get so mad over an online game but it's bettering the world. Anyone that stupid doesn't deserve to live. (I'm calm.... I'm calm....)

if you hit someone while they are running it is a crit back or not. If you hit a warrior in the back (running or not) it bypasses their shield.

I once played in team arena's as my ranger and we faced a group of you gessed it, all warriors. It was organized like this. Only 3 of the warriors fight and one dumbass runs around the arena all freaking day. I'm never without pindown as a ranger in pvp so I snared the noobtard and my team members slaughtered him. Next match was the same group again and like the time before we slaughtered them again.

Illl exploit a teams weakness by running when Im low on life, taking a few enemys with me and leaving the rest of my team to kill off guys, but I will never run when its hopeless (1v4). Hmmm.

Actually in tombs I'd have to say it's a perfectly viable strategy in the free for all maps. If you can slink away and get the other teams to engage then go rezz your teammates why not do it?

Running is only annoying when you have no hope of winning. If you have a rezz then you have a hope of winning if you can get your team up.

Besides, stopping a runner in tombs shouldn't be a problem since out of the 64 skills your team brings I'm sure one of them is a snare.

Same here. Sometimes during a fight you need to move to get out of the way of hate. Standing still and dying to things like arrows, lightning orbs, and smiting is just dumb. Mobility and positioning is a big part of the game. But when it's down to 1v4, give it a rest.

Nothing like ruining a Mo/W smiter's day by running from them, as a warrior. Walking into the arms of a build that's designed to crush your class is pretty counter-intuitive, after all.

To counter it, bring speed boosts and/or snares. Most professions have at least one of these, and they're a great defense against warriors anyway. There's not much more to say about runners.

These people have no hope of winning.

It's usually some newb pug where 3 of them left after you slaughtered them and they only stay in a pathetic attempt to get revenge knowing damn well that if they cause us to lose in a fight against another team that the team who beat us is going to stomp them.

Uhh, everyone has a hope of winning, pug or not, it's simply a matter of getting a strategy going. I bet you don't like it because it happened to you and while you engaged another group, the newly res'd group came in and beat you while you were weakened. There is nothing wrong with the strategy, especially in tombs, so long as it's a real strategy and not simply a "i'll run around till they get so pissed they quit" type strategy, then I have nothing against it.

I agree, I don't mind someone getting away so they can res, it is just the whole running around to piss people off because they lost and have no res that makes me mad.

Yep, there are people who run even when they have no chance of winning. They've already used their rez or had none to begin with and it's just him running away from an entire team. They're running just to grief people, some even taunt/brag about how they can "run for hours"

I've seen people with builds specifically for running and purging conditions (to get rid of cripple) and just staying alive until their whole team dies then getting their jollies running the freaking map. They're wasting everyone's time.

Running is part of the game and most of the time it is a viable strategy. With all the abuses going on in pvp right now, and you guys are crying about running ........

Btw, there are many ways to stop the runner. It's not the runner's fault that you don't use them.

I take great pleasure with runners, our team usually has 4 or 5 snares in there, just for fun. So funny watching a runner go, then he gets galed, pinned down, spiked trapped, crippled again by a warrior and just for fun, iron misted, that's the real killer.

Agreed, I can't imagine a more pointless thing to complain about.

Yes, runners are likely to be newbies, so that makes them deserving of abuse and taunting does it? I remember when I first started the game, I just wanted to survive, and I thought it was good fun and a bit of a laugh to have an entire team after me and trying to survive.

Runners aren't that big of a problem, and unless you don't know what you're doing, it's usually pretty easy to take them down as well.
