High detail ?
Gerbill
I'm just wondering, on the official site it says the minimum and like proper requirements.
what do you need to have every thing on very high detail though..
I think I have more than enough.. but I'd still like to know.
comp specs:
Pentium 4 @ 3.01 Ghz.
512 MB RAM (bit low me knows)
800 Mhz FSB
256 MB Radeon 9600 XT-4
internet connection: DSL

On guildwars.com it shows the recommended requirements, doesn't really say if that's needed for the highest detail.
I never played any beta's doubt I can download them now, but I will do this once I buy the game.

You should be able to crank up every setting to max and experience zero performance reduction. I have everything maxed out at the top level quality and it runs smooth as butter.
AMD Sempron 3100+ (1.8ghz OC'd to 2.6ghz)
512mb PC3200
Radeon 9500PRO 120mb

You should be able to crank it up. I'd get more ram if you can but I serously doubt that will impede you, and if it did you wouldn't even notice.
Gerbill
Yeah I don't have the money to buy new RAM, since im buying Guildwars and saving for a holiday lol.
but I should be able to put it on max that is nice
though if neone could find out the minimum specs for max settings it would be nice

Why not Overclock your P4? A 3Ghz P4 should ovberclock at least 600Mhz. Thats your best bang for the buck.

the FPS gain is minimal at best and not worth it in my opinion

The highest detail settings worked fine for me.
P4 3.2GH
1024 400mhz DDR RAM
ATI R9800XT 256MB AGP
10Mbit Fiber Connection

You're probably fine. My setup:
AthlonXP 3200+
1024MB PC3200 DDR
Radeon 9600XT 256MB
I can run it at full quality all day and it never so much as blinks. Haven't bothered to check the framerates recently, but back in the E3 for Everyone alpha where it actually displayed them in the upper right corner, I'd commonly get 40-70fps.
