N/E... Good defensive synergy and since necro skills don't do squat for dmg, looked to the massive armor ignoring degen skill: Virulence {E}.
stats: 10+1 Soul Reaping, 10+2 Death Magic, 11 Earth Magic
Virulence {E}
Animate Bone Minions
Death Nova
Infuse Condition
Taste of Death
Armor of Earth
Eruption

This is all about letting minions go pop in your opponent's face. Eruption is somewhat uncanny in certain areas due to just having LOTS of people in them. [King of the Hill comes to mind] Fortunately, people think it's a pathetic skill [I think so too, if dmg is what you're after] and just stand in it or have monk remove condition later. The catch here is that you should be watching your target the instant that [arrow down] icon appears indicating blindness. Then you let loose with Virulence {E}. Once it hits your other enemies, cast Virulence on them to nail them with weakness/poison on top of disease. This causes a huge chain reaction where everyone is just dying.
Your teammates obviously will hate your guts since they can be dying but in either case, u'll be summoning minions 2x and when they appear, execute Infuse Condition to protect yourself from diseases if possible, then death nova them both. Let them spread disease to the enemies and death nova them when they're hp is about 33%. If you notice they're near a foe at about 20% hp, just Taste of Death Nova pop both of them for a spike kill.
Known and obvious weaknesses. If the enemy's very fast, you won't get Virulence off at all. Your teammates will most likely hate you once you use them for Minion fodder. Enchantment removal opens this guy up to his biggest fear, high spike dmg. Just running out of the Eruption also helps nullify the Virulence {E} rules but most people, if not all, just stand it thinking, "what's 50 hp, whoopty freakin' do...".
Any ideas on increasing potential of this build? I don't want to use any other ele magic unless someone can come up with something worth time and pain. My big annoyance is that necros just don't have the dmg output and using ele skills for massive dmg deter's from using energy to feed minion growth.

Just a suggestion, having ranger as a secondary might be easier to inflict conditions.
Non-elite condition skills
Bleeding: Hunter's shot, barbed trap
Blind: throw dirt, dust trap
Crippled: barbed trap, pin down
Dazed: Concussion shot
Ignite: Flame trap
Poison: Apply poison
Advantages:
1) Able to do it from great range. (Long Bow, Flatbow)
2) Mostly low mana/cooldown hence spammable with virulence
3) AOE effects, traps and throw dirt, combine with virulence, you are inflicting ALOT of conditions, weaken, diseased, blind etc.
Compare to ele, these skills have shorter casting times, and you have more variety of conditions to play with.
My General Playing Style:
3 attributes:
Necro -Soul Reap, Death Magic
Ranger - Wilderness Survival
Skills: Barbed Traps, Flame traps, Dust Trap, Healing spring, Dryder's Defence,
Virulence, Corpse explosion, Animate Bone Horror/ Minions
Lay traps, lead enemies to traps, conditions inflicted, cast virulence, alternate between putrid explosion and raise minions with corpses, to keep minions alive, use healing spring and dust traps.
With Soul Reap, you will be able to spam AOE damage easily (Traps and Putrid). With Dryder's Defence, you are able to lay traps right under their nose, and with your raised minions overwhelming them, they will have a hard time rushing to you, not forgetting the crippling effect of barbed traps.
But this combination does not work as well against non-fleshy foes.

a crazy thought: what if you keep your death magic low? that way the minions will surely die within 30 seconds, getting the effect of the death nova faster (i mean, i don't think you're after the dmg abilities of your minions, right?)
but... i don't know what the effect of low death magic will do to death nova. will it render it useless? i don't play a necro primary so i didn't try this. if you do, please post to say if it worked.

Low death magic means low death nova dmg.
The 15s. of poison is permanent though, but at this level, Death Nova strikes for 85 'almost' armor ignoring dmg...
[struck a warrior for 83 so armor is taken into account, albeit very little account.]
Minions come out in pairs so for each pair of minions, I have a Taste of Death Nova combo for 166 dmg. On top of poison. I think it might be more beneficial to just Death Nova and wait for the poison to take its course before Death Nova again.
Also, the minions will die faster due to rampant conditions going about and me using Infuse Condition.

Few things you may want to watch out for. If you death magic is high, your minion hp will be high meaning the effects of death nova will not kick in when you want it to. I dunno about you, but I rarely attack minions meaning they dont go down to fast. Keep your minions alive long enough to spread the disease then go ahead and pop them. As for afflicting an initial condition, Eruption is probably not the way to go. You can use blinding flash then throw the Virulence in. The thing with blinding flash is that you do not need to invest any points in air so you can keep your attribute list the same. I would let the source of dmg be the death nova seeing how its fast and more controllable.
BTW, I'm pretty sure I have fought many builds like this before(with the exception of armor of earth), sorry
But this build is still fun to use, so who cares
