If I put a bow string on one of my bows can i use an expert salvage kit to get it back? Details Please

Yes, but you wont always get the string back out. Its like an 7-8/10 chance. Also, if you get it back you lose the bow.

Yes you can use an expert kit and attempt to remove it back. There is a chance that you will fail and just get crafting materials though.

In addition to the above advice, I'll say that adding a grip upgrade to the bow decreases your likelihood of successfully salvaging the string from the weapon.

BTW, you can't salvage collector items.

If your bow is a collector bow, crafted bow - or obtained as a quest reward it can't be salvaged. So if you apply a grip or a string - you won't ever retrieve the upgrade. The same is true for applying runes to collector armor.

Actually, the above is false, atleast as far as armor goes (not certain about the weapons as I haven't tried it). From the June 1st update

It's a shame too, as some quests give 10/10 sundering upgrades...
