I just heard of the game today and thought I would buy a pre-order.

"Your Unique pass code is listed below and entitles you to reserve your characters's name in the game world"

Yaa right...

I got screwed!

Well, ya still have a real good chance bud. With the pre-order you will be able to log in up to 48 hrs before those that didn't order it and for those that did Pre-order most of them were in this last BWE so already have their names, so you should have a real good chance of getting your name.

GW stopped releasing codes for the BWEs a while ago, I believe. It's just the stores still had them in stock. It's not really their fault you won't be able to.

But they still took my money. No more BWE...thats cool. But there still should be an option to reserve a name without playing the beta version. Its kinda of misleading.

Well looking at the big picture, the money you spent buying the pre-order will make your final copy cheaper :P And you get an item :P And ... you can play a day early to reserve your name, im about 99.5% sure you can get the name you want.

You play 2 days early. As for your name being reserved... lol. Unless it's like "Bob" to our world, I doubt anyone would have it. Even if someone has the SAME first name, you get a last name. What are the odds of someone with the same first and last name?

Pretty good when you try using characters from popular fantasy books. I should know.

You can pick up your copy on the 28th, so really, you can get in a day early, plus the time it would take you to pick up your copy on the 28th. However, without the retail version, you will not be able to play after the 28th. So, technically you have 48hours to play with your beta code, and it could allow you acces for UP TO 48 hours early. But it only allows you to play for 24 hours before someone else who buys the game (again + time to go get the game).

Just to clear up the confusion, you don't get to log in 2 days early.
Log in with BWE code - April 27th, 12:01 a.m. Pacific
Guild Wars on shelves - April 28th

Why ripped off? You get the pre-order box for like $5 and you'll get the game for $5 less than usual after....I believe..

You get to play on the 27th and you can grab your name then. Non-preorders have to wait till the 28th so you have a day to get it. If earlier preorders already took it then there is nothing you can do. But since names are all 2+ words it shouldn't be hard to find something good.

I personally didn't get in until the very last day of BWE and I had no problems with a name. As stated above, you need a first and a last name. That makes the chances of getting something you are happy with even better.

The Joint :p

Besides how can you reserve a name before the game releases without being in the beta? If it were me I'd be glad to have the pre-order, install it, run it, get all the updates done and ready for the 27th, when you you get to play. You never know how that might be your reservation just in your playing right there because technically, you are still playing beta.

Hope this was helpful.
