right, the whole point of paying 60k for a set of armour when it has no better stats is to give the farmers something more aesthetically pleasing for thier efforts, thats doesnt give an advantage.

please areanet, if youre going to make me pay 60k for something like this, PLEASE MAKE SURE ITS ACTUALLY AESTHETICALLY PLEASNG

i get the feeling i shouldve paid 60k for a sign on my forehead that reads "HAH OMG j00 GOT 0wn3d BY AREANET SUCKER!

even if you dont change the basic design of it, actually give me SOME armour to look at, im looking at nothing but a sleeve and a glorified belt.

this is my warning to the rest of you female warriors, dont waste your GP on this stuff, its terrible.

P.S. i copied my post exactly from the one i made on a different forum, so sue me.

I don't know. I kind of like it. However, I do sort of agree that a lot of the UW/Fissure armor sets for the female characters are a bit....lacking....in body coverage. However, given that a larger proportion of the game's population is male, it might be pleasing for them to see even if it makes the female 'toons' a bit chilly in the colder environs.

The female gladiator design is quite infantile in my opinion. The make dragon and platemail designs are awesome.

BTW - they also need to add chicks with muscle - girth. Hell they need a fat dude and dudette.

yes, but the whole point is to make the armour more aesthetically pleasing, not just to show skin. i might as well just run around naked if i want to look like that.

lets face it, how exactly can that be considered armour? it protects nothing but my right arm. if that.

They are probably going somewhat for the look of traditional gladiator armor, which was skimpy for the males of that era since gladiatorial fighting emphasized mobility over protection for the most part (there were different variants of gladiator armor, but none were like platemail or anything heavy IIRC). So that is probably why it is skimpy in comparison to the rest. I despise the chainmail bikini phenomenon in fantasy as much as anyone, but I donno if its warrented here. Especially since they follow the one armored arm design, but maybe it still is.

ya but its not just that even the different elementalist armors look no different from pre searing to droknars....some change would be nice so you can see your character evolve.....the more badass you get the more badass you should look.

For females, armor level is inversely proportional to body coverage. I would expect to see the Thong of Doom in the expansion pack that grants the female wearer AL 120. This is a law that applies to most video games and cartoons.

There's been a lot of speculation on the subject. My personal theory is that the extra AL is an illusion, the AL is lower but the decreased damage is /actually/ coming from a negative penalty on the monster's side (who's too busy ogling the b00bz to mount a decent attack).

They go for realism in the armor but not the body type?
Sorry I don't buy the argument [even though it is good].

I agree the target audience is male 16-34. But I bet a lot of males and females would have fun with a husky red head running in full dragon armor.

It gets kind of boring when you have bunch of Lara Croft running around.

ah, but the point of the matter is this.

if you had seen that armour before you bought it, would you opt to pay the 60,000 it cost? or pay 60,000 for armour that you can actually see.

one of the things about the ascencion armour, is that people notice it out from the rest. ive been asked about this armuor but once and i got a "you paid 60k for that?"

i was forced to respond with "unfortunatley, yes."

I thought they were going to let me add/remove blubber from my character. Alas, it just made me taller/shorter. Somehow I really want to play a huge tubby jolly monk (sort of a friar tuck if you will). I'd blow my cash on Dwarven Ale at the end of every mission as we had lived another day. Alas, turns out I need to be buff and well defined. Just as well I suppose

When coupled with a shield, like in the picture, that armor gives as much protection as anything else. Her entire upperbody is covered while her shield is up. That, and she's got a ton of extra mobility. Considering that a lot of the other female armor doesn't cover the legs, I'd say it's adequate...But I wouldn't get it. I think more of that armor would look cooler, but meh.

Some players do like to use this type of amor. This amor adds to mana so it dose make it more helpful.

The skimpy armor does give you more AL. Can't you tell the fact that when wearing a bra and mini-skirt/panty gives your more or less the same protection as full body armor does mean AL IS higher?? So your 60k is worth it!

Looks pretty good to me.

The armor emphasizes mobility over armor (thus the energy bonus).

Note that the right arm has metal guards and the left does not. This is because the right arm hold the sword/axe and the left has a shield at hand to protect from blows. Also, there is a blade on the right side to avoid attacks to the neck. I suppose you are intended to protect your left neck with the shield too? There are also leg guards to avoid sweeps. The only area of this armor that is not protected is the abdomom.

The worst part of the armor is the skimpy bra. On top of that, it has no decoration on it like the rest of the armor (or even the cheaper version's top). Doesn't the female warrior underwear provide more coverage?
