Where are the weeds?

In Seared Ascalon there don't seem to be any pockets of green. This not only is very bland, it is unusual. I don't know how many people have tried to clear land or seen it after a forest fire but, there are always spots that for some reason was missed.
Has anyone found any of these "hidden glens"?
If it really is 100% scorched earth, what do people eat? (Charr ?)

Seems like there ought to be many "Collector Quests" for food and drinkable water.

They eat what some call "Vilderberries" and other food items that they've adapted to grow in the harsh wasteland that is now their home. Meat is a rarity and I'd rather not explain nor describe the source of it.

Yes, if Ascalon's population has been as devestated as its land, it really doesn't require much food to feed them. At this point they probably just import whatever they need...

If you go through The Breach, and then keep to the wall and go as far down it as possible, you will pass some little glades of dead trees that still have some flowers and grass and bushes (not a great amount though). There is also a boss down there (dropped a Monk ring for me).
