Drawing on the ol' mini-map
DarkWasp
When I played this BWE, I really loved the drawing on the map feature. But you can also make little ping dots by just clicking, some people were making them differnt colors. How is this done?

There are "light blue pings" on missions which are generally automatically made by the game. It is used to highlight the location of an item that is crucial to the mission, like on Riverside if I recall correctly.
Player pings, as far as I know, are all red, unless there were some new stuff last beta that I am not familiar with.
Drawings, similarly as above, are all white.

Hmm... don't you get different colors depending on whether you left or right click?

The only ones that players can make intentionally are the red dots. If I remember correctly, the mission where you must retrieve the Eye (I think it's D'Allessio or the mission after it) creates a yellow ping to tell you where to go to get the Eye, and at Riverside, a Blue ping is on the map to indicate where the Sceptor of Orr was last dropped.
The map feature is one of the coolest and most useful things in Guild Wars.

Can someone please explain how drawing on the mini map works? I tried clicking on it in the last beta and nothing happened.

Click on the map to make a red ping wherever you clicked (by map, we're refering to the small circular radar thing, of course). Click and drag to make white lines appear. (normal click. not right click or anything weird like that)

Thank you! I was clicking on the small rectangular map that you get (by pressing the U key I think). Doh!

Yarrr ! This way, if your leading you can show wich way you want your group to travel or pick targets to attack, and my favorite, when someone gets lost (or came back from the bathroom) can find their way back to you with the pinging homing radar.

yeah its fun for drawing pictures in when youre waiting for a party member to get back from the bathroom
