I have obtained for 9k and a gold staff worth a couple of thousand a: -
Gold Fiery Horn Bow of Fortitude
Fire Dmg: 15-28 (re 11 marksmanship)
Dmg +12% (while health is above 50%)
Health +22
The person did not suggest 15k to begin with but cancelled the session after I offered a couple of thousand. He did not say he wanted more but i asked if i could pay more. It did not appear to be a con but noone will pay 15k for it.

I'm trying to understand what you're saying here...
So you willingly gave him more money? Rather, you asked if you could pay more for it.
Now you say you've been conned?
I'm confused.

he sed o offered too little. and he left it at that so i said i will pay more thinking it was an amazing item. he wanted 15k but i sed 9k with a gold item which was rubbish anyway. i offered more because he cancelled session and sed my first offer was a bit f a joke.
The Herbalizer
he asked for me to make an offer
i offered 1.5k
he cancelled session saying it was worth more
i offered 5k
he sed he wanted 15k
i sed i only have 9k and i can give a rubbish gold staff
he accepted
noone wants it for any more than 5k

Not sure you got conned, just made a not so great trade, I guess.
You got a GOLD Max Bow with -decent- mods. You probly overpaid, but it happens. PLUS, you never know ,you may find the right buyer.

Its high req... only 12% on the above 50% mod. 5k is a bit low... but I can't imagine you will get much more than 10k for it.

just out of curiosity, what was the staff that you put in the trade

Every seller tries to bargain as much as possible when selling his items. He was within his rights to demand any amount. If you were planning to use it, then 10-11K isnt bad for the bow.
However, if you planned to resell it, you made a bad deal. As simple as that. Reselling is an art, which you need a lot of experience to master properly.

i plan on using it on a new character i am going to create.
i do not really want to resell it.
i suppose i did not really get conned, i think i just panicked when i was trying to get people to give me a price for it. they all said it was nice but the 20k asking price was a bit steep seeing it did not have max health bonus.
thanx for all the help
