In the past week, I've been the lucky recipient of 2 black dye drops.
The 1st time, I went to a dye trader and got ~8pp for it, when the trader was selling it for ~11pp.
But thistime, I have been offered at different times anywhere between 1gp and 2pp, when the current selling price is ~9pp.
I figured the offer of 1gp was a bug, but it happened several times, and was consistent across at least 3 different dye traders. I just tried later in each case and got a 'non-1gp' quote.
So why did I get 8pp when the market was at 11pp, and now can't get more than 2pp when the market is at 9pp? This makes no sense to me...

at 1730 this afternoon.... The trader was offering black dye for 9019...but willing to pay only 1133. DONT sell black or silver to the traders!!
....stands to reason that if the trader will sell dye for 9k....someone will be willing to pay 5-8k for it. You make more and save them some. Simple...almost....just takes time and is a hassle often enough.
One day this week I saw black at over 11k ..........but the going rate that players would buy from other players was about 6k
Just watch the market...keep track of it on paper...then set a reasonable price that you are willing to sell yours at. For instance, if I track iron at different times going for 50, 90, 55, 30, 60, 30, 110, and 95 for 10 ingots........I would not pay anyone more than about 60/10....and would not sell for less than 85-90/10.
One word of advice....when you see your sale price...SELL IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE! I have seen leather squares go from 1420/10 to like 200/10 in 5 minutes. I NEVER wait for higher prices now...I see the SELL price...and I sell right then and there. I still make money on stuff....just sometimes have to wait a little longer.

i don't know how it is priced but i think it is gay this guy wanted 11k for one piece of black dye it was gay

Makes no sense to me either; selling stuff to real people is alot of trouble 
. Even giving it away in guild is hard to manage sometimes.

Fluctuations in price I expected, not wild swings. It's rather annoying to try to sell to a player; too time consuming... I'd rather be killing!
