Hello people,
I'm enjoying guildwars as it is. But I thought it could be quite handy to be able to set pinpoints on the map if you press "m". Because sometimes when I saw something somewhere or still want to go somewhere, I'll forget it. Or pherhaps when I've spotted an elite skill, but don't have a capture signet, I'll sometimes forget it. And I like to find them myself instead of watching on internet maps to find them . In games like NeverWinterNights (nice RPG) you can set points on the map, and put text in there in your own language. That way when you point your mouse over it, you can see what you've typed and then you'll never forget it . Maybe you guys can think of putting this in the game, or in one of the expansion packs coming. It'd make it even more handy, and less easy to forget things!
Thx.
Kevin

I'd love to do that for collectors - if I find a butt-kicking collector but dont have the items required, I'd love to be able to mappin it so I can run back when I get the Items.

There's an idea for a new moneysink. Let people buy markers from a marker-trader or something like that.

Sounds good as long as i dont have to listen to some jerk named sir unoriginalname yell "WTS map pinger, 500gp! PM ME! best offer!"... aside from the threat i cant see a reason why not to do this... im sure there is a negative side to it, but its like 4 am so im not going to bother thinking of one..

I hope that this is included, it would make tracking down various sets far easier.

Map markers would be incredibly helpful. However, they should be limited to a certain number (say 10, that would be more than enough for marking a full set of collector's armor) and they should have a different way of costing gold, let me explain: When you click a spot on your overmap, a window will pop up saying something like, "Are you sure you would like to mark this spot? Cost: x gold." You click ok, the amount of gold is taken from you, and you get another text box that lets you type up to a certain amount of characters (30-50?) that will appear when you mouse over the marker. Having the money spent this way will prevent a player character monopoly on markers yet still act as a gold sink.

I'm not sure if this is something that can even be implemented because of persistency issues but.....each character's map is persistent to the character so I would think it -could- be. But I like the idea of being able to buy markers as a gold sink and I also like the idea of a limited number. Maybe the number of "pins" could go up as you progress through the game?
But I suspect that this would only be implemented as an "enhancement" in future expansions and not something that would be patched into the game.
