very good suggestions...

Ok,
I understand the whole thing with being able to get to only level 20 but....
(and correct me if I am wrong) if the level stops at 20 and skills still raise is there not a problem there. When you get to level 20 your health and mana (unless elem.) does not increase but your skill level still increases so... would it not be true that a sorc with really high fire would take out anyone in one hit (or maybe a couple) sense the amount of health a person has does not increase. I do not know what the rest of you think but my friends and I love this game but when we found out that we could only get to level 20 we felt if the game would really be worth the time. Sense in 2 beta events i was able to get to level 15 after I hit 20 I would fell kinda dull. By this I mean that many people tell how good someone is by their level and that also shows how much a person loves the game. Also some of the characters classes need changeing.
So now my suggestions,
1. Increase the level.
2. Make it so that when you enter a pvp contest you could only fight people your own level. This way it controls how high people wana level so that they still have the abilty to fight others.
3. Make the warrior have more health the the other class and make it have the abilty to raise its health higher. For that is the whole point of a warrior to go in and take hits and fight up close. But if it has the same amount of health as lets say a monk then what is the point of going warrior.
4. Have a point to joining a guild. Meaning like many others very good rpgs they have a special meeting room that only the members of that guild can enter and there they can talk and play tiny games like chess and checkers just to pass some time. I do not think this would be so hard for a game company to make thinking that it is in simple games like RuneScape.
5. Have a special chat that can be heard in all districts so that a person does not have to keep jumping around to find a item they need. But still have the districts because that was a very good way of reducing lag time.
Other then these 5 points I think that this games is very good. But if they added a few more things like these into the game it would easily (in my mind) become better the some of the best games out there like World Of Warcraft and EverQuest.
Hopefully you take all these into though.

@1
the game is supposed to be skill and strategy not level hungry madness and the level cap will not change.
@2
that will take away the desire to better yourself and stomp on weaklings.
@3
a warrior does not need more health. because of his armor and how it works, a person attacking a monk will kill him in lets say 10 hits, while it will kill the warrior in 20 hits. its like an illusion, they have the same health but more is taken per hit by the spellcasters.
@4
its already been done....
@5
not neccesarry, dont be so lazy, there is enough spam as it is.

So much to say, so little time.
A skill is only as strong as the points in its required attribute. Your sorceror/elementalist example is completely wrong. There is a cap to how strong each skill is. Attributes can only go up to 16 (18 with a skill buff, but that's still a cap). An elementalist will never be able to get so powerful that they would be unstoppable in PvP.
1. Won't happen, so don't even bother asking for this anymore
2. No real need for this since most people don't PvP until they are lvl 20 since it is when your build is at its highest potention.
3. Increasing health would mean nothing. The warrior has the best armor and some of the best damage reduction skills. There is no need to raise the health.
4. You want to compare GW to "simple games like RuneScape?" There is already a point to joining a guild.
5. Seems nice, but allowing annoying people to spam 2-10+ districts at once? Could be easily abused.
GW isn't like other games. Appreciate this and aim to keep it different and enjoyable.

something else, in the future, (dont get me wrong this very well may not happen) there could be say, in the 3rd expansion, a level cap of 25 or 30 instead of just 20, but those characters would only be able to be on that expansion, the chat thing, would be ok, IF it was a seperate box, that by default was OFF

the GW web site says
Our maximum level is twenty and you hit that very quickly, after about 20-30 hours of play. ,We call that 'The Point of Ascension'. Almost all of the content in the game and in the future Chapters is only available to Ascended characters, which means we don't have to worry about providing different levels of content. All the good stuff will be available to everyone. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless.
note future chapters and uniform level content for everyone to enjoy

First off GuildWars isn't competing with EQ and Wow as an MMORPG becuase it is not an MMORPG. GuildWars is defining a type, a new standard, a new way of thinking for online gaming that is more competitive, while at the same time immersive and a fantasy art role playing gamers perfect escape.
Here at this link are all the posts and debate about level 20.
It also would be good to look at this article on game mechanics.
Hope these help you with enjoying GuildWars more on release.

Finding people in towns was a real chore for me. How about the ability to double click on someones chat message and it will highlight that person's name in a different color so you can find the person who said "looking for group" or "charr carvings for sale".
I know you can double click the name and send them a message and talk to them, but if you dbl click a name and it changed color so when you ctrl you can see that name in the mass of confusion, would save a ton of time and chat on where are we meeting ? where are you ? i was at the fire, now im at the outfitter.

"Very Good Suggestions"
You should be shot for false advertising. These are awful.
1) the level cap should never be raised. ever. refur to sticky in Q&A forum.
2) wow. that's a great idea! how bout we just leave the level cap at 20?
3) Warriors already have superior armour. They don't need to be buffed with health
4) Do not mention any suggestion for GW and RuneScape in the same sentance. Violaters will be lynched. You clearly don't know what a guild is. A guild is more of a Clan. It's not like the Champions, Heroes, Magicians, Cooks, Adventurers, and so on Guilds that were in RS. A Guild is an organized game-supported clan that is meant to do battle with other guilds. The reward for being in a Guild is being able to enter into GvG battles. There will probably be cool ways to soup up your Guild Hall later.
5) No. I don't need to be hearing "WTB Max Damage Short Bow!" in every district. That would be like changing the channel and seeing golf all the time. And then when you turn off the TV (going into a mission), it's still there! Unplug it! Nooo!
Obviously, you don't understand the game. Hang around here, go to the Q&A forum, and so on. But the simple fact that you mentioned World of Warcraft as a good game... Nay... one of the best! is proof enough that you are new to Guild Wars and need to learn more about how it works before you start suggesting things to improve the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the "sorcerer" (here we call them Elementalists son) skill points in say fire caps out at a certain number. So even if you had an Elementalist with all the fire points he could have, it still wouldn't be enough to take out a warrior in one hit. I think you should really try and understand the mechanics and the reasoning behind the level 20 decision.
Oh and why the hell would we want to game to be like EQ or WoW. This is not a free version of EQ. This is a game is totally different. If they made it like every other game, then it would be just that. Every other game.

the most you can possibly get in any one attribute is 16:
12 attribute points, +1 headgear, +3 superior rune.

OK,
I get it you all think negative but that is ok.
1. The all chat I was talking about should be in a seprate box.
2. I understand that this should not be a level crazy game where people just level to get really high but... if it was made a little higher (i know what you are going to say to this but...) then made it would not be such a big thing if I am not the only one to complain about it. Also the expansion pack had higher level then that would add more to do.
3. Also what is there to a guild besides the GvG battle there is no other point.

that is the whole point.
Have you ever played Vietcong, or Counter-Strike?
they have tournaments in where the skilled players clans play against other skilled clans, you work as a team to win.
if by no point you mean you dont get cool items or whatnot then you have a lot to learn.
just kicking someones butt and being the best is the whole point to a guild, clan, gaming group, w/e.

Just adding more lvls to attain isn't a very fun way to add "more to do." Add more missions, more explorable zones, more types of PvP, etc. Now that is the BEST way to make a game fun. Imagine if EQ, WoW, and all those other games had a low lvl cap that allowed people to experience ALL of the game quicker and easier instead of grinding to reach the high lvls. You'd get more for your money. Use some sense and realize which you benefit from more.
And if the expansion pack had higher lvls, that means people who didn't buy it couldn't play fairly against those that were now 5, 10, etc lvls higher than them.
The game designers are making this the best game for YOU, so you should be thanking them even if you can't figure it out because you have been so blinded by other games.
epyonwing
Ok now we are talking if we put more pvp and battle mods it would add more to be in a guild. Also it would be cool if there could be guild vs guild were the 2 guilds would get a objective in a quest and the first one to finnish it would get all the items the two guilds found.
Also I get it stop hollowing me about the level it is just that I have played so many rpgs (Runescape, EQ, WoW, RYL, etc) and i think they all had very good elements and in that meaning if they were all combined it would make the best game EVA..

You still get XP after level 20. From what I gather, after a certain amount of XP, you get another "skills point" that you can spend at a skills trader (I dont remember the amount of XP it takes). So you arent "leveling", but you are increasing the available spells you can have in your inventory. So, no, it's not pointless.
How about this:
More time dancing around, less time fighting :P

They should add more levels simply because it's too easy to attain lvl 20. Instead of increasing exp cost to reach a certain level, more levels would give a person smaller goals and a sense of achievement.
Increasing the level doesn't mean it will take much longer to max. Since they could just increase the exp reward of what you kill.

OK JUST 2 THINGS THIS TIME.
1. Who got lvl 20 and felt happy to see that there was no point when it makes it so that everyone feels the same no matter what level they are.
2. And what is this skill you are talking about..
step 1. click on enemy
step 2. press number 2 for skill
step 3. wait for charge (get hit while chargeing)
step 4. launch skill
step 5. repeat till one dies
step 6. uhh... wonder where the skill is

People think of what you are saying... If you people would get out of your house and look at the real world then you would see what I am trying to show you. We have high and low people in this world we have people like Bill Gates and we have hobos. Now Bill Gates has worked long and hard to come to where he is now. But the hobo.. he skipped school and got fired from
Wal-Mart. Now would it be far if with out any work the hobo would be at the same level as Bill Gates NO. This is what I am trying to say. YOU should have to put some time into being good. YOU should not make everyone equal
( hobo = Bill Gates)
.
1. I am not a leveling crazy no life fat geek. I am just a gamer that likes to see a reason to get to a higher level. If a level 10 person is the same in armor and skill as a level 20 (diffrence in power) what is the point. You can not show other how much time you have put into the game and also show yourself how much you have point into the game sense all the other people are almost the same as you.
2. I HAVE played it, I HAVE liked it, I AM going to get it, BUT... these are just things that I do not like about the game. AND I DID get level 20 and guess what it is the same as you were level 10 and 15 and all the other levels your armor still depends on your luck of finding material and your "skill" is the same as the steps I said above.
SO before any says anything diffrenet someone please tell me where this skill is and tell me how/why I should compare this to CS and not compare it to really good rpgs like EQ.

Okay... man... you´re really completely out of reality aren´t you?
Did Bill Gates get rich because he worked like a madman or did he get rich because he had the brilliante idea of being smart and ¨copying¨ and ¨improving¨ other people´s software? Did Bill Gates ¨point and clicked¨ 100001010101010 times to get there, or did he just thought up a good strategy to get there really fast? ¨Think¨ about what you are saying, because you aren´t thinking at all...
Put it this way, if you play a hell lot more than other people, you´ll get more skills, get more money, build up your deck of strategies. But playing a lot really just won´t do. It actually requires you to be ¨smart¨ to know how to play the game and build up your strategies, not just ¨point click and kill¨ a 2120120102310231 times just to be the most powerfull of the lot (as like in other MMORPGS).
That is the one thing I love about this game, and that is the one thing that makes me play to have fun and not because I´m feeling obliged to.

WOW someone took what I said about Bill Gates and thought that I meant that all he was was take others ideas.. NO I meant that if we gave the same power to a hobo then what was the point of Bill Gates trying to do all he could to get rich. Now take this to level one guy gets 20 but then finds out that a level 1 can be the same with the same armor and skills as the level 20. What is the point of putting any time into this game?

First of all I am kinda getting tired of all the levelgeeks that complain about the cap. On which facts does one base his opinion to say a game stinks because of the number of levels you can get. What counts is the immersive gameplay, the revolutionary concept and idea behind it ... All your remarks in previous posts show you don't know anything about the game. I don't know why you are complaining about something you don't know, but this clearly shows your complaints have no value. It would make no sense if I started to complain on a Ferrari website saying their cars are no good ... I never had the chance to drive one so how would I know .... ?
Skill is in determining which combination of acquired "skills" (I know, poor vocabulary
) can get you and your team past opponents (human or AI) as fast as possible. Skill is also in trying to react very fast on everchanging situations, make unexpected moves etc etc etc. (Just my opinion here)

Skill n., Middle English skil, from Old Norse, distinction, knowledge; probably akin to Old English scylian to separate, sciell
1 obsolete : CAUSE, REASON
2 a : the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance b : dexterity or coordination especially in the execution of learned physical tasks
3 : a learned power of doing something competently : a developed aptitude or ability <language skills>
By any of the (non-obsolete) definitions both GW and CS or DoD require skill; I'd say that for definition 2 b) it is more the case for the FPS games

Now take this to level one guy gets 20 but then finds out that a level 1 can be the same with the same armor and skills as the level 20. What is the point of putting any time into this game?
Next before anyone answers this question please answre my first question WHAT IS THIS SKILL YOU TALK OFF!!! and in CS there is no skill i can go in with the strongest gun and kill evreyone with out any skill. (This is what I do so do not talk to me that you can not do that) |

I happen to prefer DoD, but either game has tons of skill involved.

For those that are not known to my vocabulary:
Lock movement = when you press tab or click on a target and press a number to cast a spell.
Cast movement = when your pointer is the cast beacon and within a range of cast you cast the spell. Meaning that if you are within a skills cast range (lets say 15 feet) you can the mouse and it would cast it (without being locked onto a thing). This would make GW skill based meaning you could cast a spell like firestorm 15ft away from you and then have it start there waiting for someone to wake into it at which time your warriors would be pushing a group into it. THIS IS SKILL OF TACTICS. For those simple people a shoter still cast system.
And I do play EQ2 and think that the game is too long in the sense that the levels go to 250 or something really high I do not I quit. I am not asking for a HUGE level increase just maybe to something like 50 and make the armor have a level that you have to be to wear it. This would give something to the people that work a little harder for the game then those that just started playing.

that would defeat the entire purpose of the 20 cap
eventually people will see that there is more to life than
*i got more levels than you so i am better by senority*
if you missed it here is it from GW
fron GW
Guild Wars, in contrast, is based around your skill as a player. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless.
edit
50 not huge? that is 2.5 times the present cap
