bonus weapons you may not have known about
DrSLUGFly
If you drop a dwarven powder keg and it explodes near enemies, all enemies are knocked down and immolate...
If you drop a vine seed near enemies, all enemies are tied to the ground by vines for like 5 or 10 seconds...
Does anyone know any other "hidden weapons" that exist in the game? I know there's a staff that slows enemies, but since we're told that when we pick it up it's not really hidden.

Maybe they added this in a recent patch? I tried the dwarven keg thing long back..(2 months) and enemies were unaffected when it exploded.

I didn't either. I always run away from the barrels....would they knock down allies too?
And my contribution: The Summit Beastriders do their "stomp" and EVERYONE, friend and foe, is knocked down. I just noticed that the other day.
***edited to get the right critter*** Thanks, Wrynn!

and of course there is the plant things on thirsty, but thats not really hidden either.
i cant even think of other pickups of that sort, lets see, apples, tome of the fallen, powder kegs, war machine plans, vine seed, scepter of orr, cripple/bleed plant thingy, slow totem, spectral essence.
DrSLUGFly
The kegs thing is like your own weapons, doesn't affect allies And perhaps you just didn't have a situation that lent itself well to kegs as weapons, I noticed it quite a while ago. The seeds thing I just noticed last night though
Ollj
the white mantles eye knocks down a lot.
Darksci
Ah i didn't know vine seeds do that!!!
The Landmines in the accension mission are also like kegs, but cause cripple and bleeding. Quite useful at times.

I don't remember the knockdown effect of the Eye. All I remember is that it was the single most annoying mission ever... I wanted to.. to... throw that eye off a cliff or something.
Edit: Yea I was talking about the bonus. Sorry bout the misprint

Divinity Coast (the mission with the eye) is probably the easiest mission in the game- the eye just makes it even easier by using AOE knockdowns on the enemy.
(The bonus mission is another story- it's very hard.)
Also, vine seeds do AOE knockdown. Can you say "vine seed drop + aftershock"?

In the Elona mission, you can grab a seedling from the trap plant things and drop them later to cause AoE bleeding.
The undead Mesmer
yeah those things are great but you can also set some mobs against eachother here is a story about it
once upon a time in the shiverpeaks some brave warriors where battling beastmasters and griphons one beastmaster used a knockdown and the rest attacked him (the mobs) hmmm even mobs can get pissed of and this is a true storry
