Here's my deal. I plan on making one character, he/she goes through the game, and gets all the skills and such for both the primary and secondary.

Then, switch secondary professions, and get all the skills for the new secondary. Do this repeatedly until all skills are unlocked.

So my question is, which Primary will afford me the best chance to do this?

I was thinking that a Warrior primary is best, with the highest armor and access to damage mitigation skills, as well as the ability to do sustained damage. Only issue really is versatility later on, but I suppose I could make him a W/Mo farmer, or maybe a runner for hire or something.

But then I looked at the Ranger primary, and its almost a self contained class in itself, and seems to possess greater versatility than the warrior, and seems to combine better with other classes than the Warrior. With better energy and regen, and only slightly inferior armor, is a Ranger the best choice for this task?

Just looking for ideas is all.

You're hardly going to be able to unlock all skills of your original primary/secondary profession. The amount of time required is not worth it, it's much faster to create a new character. Getting him to level 20 and through all the missions nets you some 40 skill points or so, and it's much faster than grinding UW/FoW for skill points.

So you're saying its actually a bad idea to try it this way? That its more time and effort efficient to play 3 characters through the PvE story mode each having two distinct professions (i.e. Mo/W, R/N, E/Me)?

It just seems like in casual play, a single sturdy character, such as a lvl 20 warrior, could go back and do each class's missions that give free skills, while purchasing only those skills one would play with as a lvl 20 PvP character. It seems if you take into account all builds, there are many skills that one never sees or uses to be effective in PvP.

To put it in perspective, I do have a lvl 20 Mo/W, who so far has captured two Monk Elites, and one Warrior Elite. I think I've purchased only a few skills, and he's got a surplus of some 35 skill points. I could switch his secondary to any other class, and probably buy up all the necessary skills to make him effective that way too.

I was just wondering, if I start a character, with the stated purpose of switching secondaries to attain all class skills, and give the benefit of unlimited skillpoints, which one would be most useful to play through?

I've already unlocked many Warrior skills with my 20 Mo/W, so maybe I should take Ranger as the Primary and then unlock the other three? My motivation is that the Monk is largely an ineffective combat character on his own, so it would be hard to do missions without a half a dozen henchies except in specialized areas that Smiting could handle. You need a Primary that can deal damage and survive, so its either Warrior or Ranger.
