Auto-skip movies

Since the system for skipping movies is woefully inadequate add a new system for skipping movies. Some players want to be able to watch movies, but others (who are doing the mission for the 4th or 5th time) would rather not waste 5 minutes watching the movie again.

The solution is to add a system that is set by the party leader before the mission starts. If auto-skip movies is selected when the players go to a movie point they are not given the option to vote, the screen simply blacks out for a second indicating a movie was there, regroups the players, and then allows them to continue. It would be clearly visable to all players before the mission starts and could only be set before the mission starts. If a player really wants to watch the movie they could then join a different group and not waste the time of a group who has seen the movie multiple times.

Is it really that hard to push the skip button? Besides this gives you a chance to take a quick break, grab a sode, go to the bathroom, etc. Having the group leader have power to override movie viewing just makes everything more complicated than it has to be....

Especially since anyone starting a group is likely to be experienced with the game and on a second/third/fourth character, and as such would likely want to skip the movies. Assuming most players who have completed the game/a mission already would want to skip a cutscene, this would force new players/those who aren't bothered by waiting/resting for a few minutes to start their own groups, something a new player will probably be very hesitant to do. The cutscenes are NOT very long, and some patience is a good thing.

I agree that this wouldn't be the optimal choice, though players would know before the mission started. If I've seen the cutscene 2-3 or even 5 times...meh...I just go get a soda or go to the bathroom or just stand up and stretch my legs. It's not that big a deal really.

Yeah, I don't see why a newbie player should have to miss out on the storyline because the leader is an impatient git...

The best idea proposed so far was this:

Those who wish to skip the movie skip (either going to end-mission, waiting in that particular area for the movie to end, or going to the next area)

Those who do not wish to skip do not...

When somebody is playing for the first time they have every right to watch the cut scene.

When somebody is playing for a second, third or fourtieth time they should have the convenience of not watching.

compare the words I chose, right and convenience... I will never press skip if I know somebody is doing this for the first time.

They would have the option of leaving the party before the mission starts. This would be an option that could only be set before the mission starts and is clearly displayed. If they really want to see the movie they can request the option changed or leave the group and join another. Most groups will be okay with that if they aren't completely sick of the movies already (like the 5 minutes instructional videos in the middle of elonas and thirsty.)
