Get Guild Wars on the 27th!

There was nothing at the Renton Fry's on Saturday for it, and they were out of pre-order boxes. I picked up a new (second) harddrive there.

But I'll not be driving that far on Wednesday when I preordered at the Best Buy on the other side of the Puget Sound .

But you'd figure with how much of an attention hog every Fry's is with their promotions, they would have had it all over the store a few days before release.

i go to school in boston. and the EB X at Copley Place said that they'd have it tomorrow 4/26 after 5 p.m. I guess it just depends on your location.

I live in Canada and when i go to the eb games store theres this box but it doesnt feel liek thers anything in it. If i wanna pre-order it what do i do???

Buy the box. There is a CD and a little envelope with a beta key in there. You can also get a pre-order at Target for a Buck - it comes with a dollar off coupon in the box for when you go pick up the game.

Usually EBGames do not accept preorders when there's less than a week left untill the release.

I was under the impression if you preordered you could actually play on the 27th,

Media Play at Cincinnati Mills Mall started selling the retail, full game, yesterday...

But it won't do no good until the 28th.

not if this matters or anything but Guild Wars is being released in 17 hours Central time for me. Which comes out the 26th (tomorrow). Look here http://gamestop.com. I might be wrong but eh, who cares :P

I'm still getting the game regardless.

Best Buy will receive the stuff sometime today, tomorrow, or Wednesday. It won't be shelved until Thursday morning, though.

EB has had the same thing for awhile now... I have the preorder box for it. Says 27th on it, and has for the last month or so to my knowledge.

Meh, the Phoenix Fry's told me they didn't know when they'll be getting a game, but it's usually 1 or 2 days after the street date...Which means I'll just buy it from Best Buy on Thursday.

I hate to say this, but I haven't heard a word about a product signing or an in-store event, at Fry's or anywhere else. I've sent a letter to the VP of Sales -- she knows all. I'd like to say that no one should make plans until he/she has confirmation from someone at ArenaNet.

As to access:

If you have a Preorder with a legitimate key, you can access on the 27th at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time.

If you purchase retail, no matter when you get it, the earliest you can play, without a preorder access key, is 12:01 a.m. Pacific on April 28th.

Exactly, Anet struck a deal with ALL of us pre-ordering customers so that EVERYONE can get the game a day early!

This game comes out on the 27th for me... I don't really care which retailers get it first

Update: I just heard from our Sales Guru, and she informs me that yes, the Fry's event will take place. I don't know the date or time, but will update you guys when I know more.

EB games just called me and told me I could go pick up mine tomarrow (the 26th) any time after 3:30. It might ease the withdrawal to read the manual a few thousand times.

I received my copy in the mail today from EBGames (about 5 hours ago.) Suffice it to say the box, jewel case, and manual are absolutely gorgeous .

I need to stop reading all of this o_o; I'm going to like go break out in happy tears of joy, despite the fact I don't get it Saturday at the earliest o.o; Monday at latest...

Hey um, can anyone tell me if the retail key will work with the client? I really want ot play but since my BF is sending it, hes going to fish out the key out of the CE before he sends it, write it down, then give it to me online so I can put it in early and hopefully play o.o; Then install when it gets here XD

I was told at Comp USA that they are allowed to sell on the 26th and their display will be up tomorrow ... this is in San Diego, California.... Yes!
