Right now I have Druid's armor AL 49 (I'm lvl 18). I'm as far as Quarrel Falls coming from the east: Druid's Overlook, The Wilds, etc. Does anyone if I can get armor neaby with AL 60? I saw a collector that wanted to trade a mask of AL 61, so there must be some armor of that level nearby. I know about the max armor in Droknar's Forge but that's a bit too far right now. Thanks.

correct me if i'm wrong guy's, but I think the next area to upgrade your armour is Amnoon oasis....

EDIT - Amnoon is at the start of the crystal desert area, after you do the Sanctum cay mission

You shouldn't but too many armors. You should buy the Ascalon Armor, buy another one in about Yak's Bend and then go for the Droknar's Armor (or something like that). If you spend too much on an armor you won't use anymore later that's a waste of many. I think you had better wait till you reach Droknar's or get a collector's armor set (the collector's armor set in the Crystal Dessert is really good).

I would probalby wait until I got to Droknars, but if you find you need to ahve better armor prior to that, you might try Ventari's Refuge.

Thanks guys. Ventari's Refuge is nearby, just south of Quarrel Falls.

I understand that you get to Droknar's Forge by following the missions. I just did the Divinity Coast mission and walked to The Wilds. Does anyone know how many missions approx. it will take me?

I tried running to Droknar's Forge with the Dodge skill but it's insane. Those worm creatures coming out of the ground knock me over again and again. Paying runners doesn't attract me either. I think following the missions is a better plan.

A good option for armour updgrades are the collectors in the jungle or desert areas. They can give a decent armour to make it easier to hold out until droknars. The good thing about them is that it's almost free.

most bang for you buck? most bang for your buck would be to save your money up, only buy armor in ascalon, then get your friend or someone else to run you to droknar when to get close to there, and buy that armor.

Thanks again guys. I went to Venturi, but they only had armour of AL 55. I now already have Druid's AL 49. Too expensive for such a minor upgrade in AL (after Yak's Bend I also upgraded in Bergen Hot Springs).

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same collectors here, but I have seen collectors in Druid's Overlook and Ventari, trading for AL 61 leather armor. That seems very nice, but then I would loose my energy bonus of my Druid's armor. I'm also an Elementalist, so I'm quite fond of the energy bonus. It seems there is always a catch to something. You can't have it all

Not sure what to do though. Depends on how many missions I have to do to get to Droknar

yea you used to get the 60+ armor outside of Wilds MIssion. if you steped out of the gate hold Alt. you would see a crafter thierr he sold the second highest armor before draknor. i dont know if hes still there or if only works for rangers. my warrior i tried it he wasnt thier.

Yeah, me too. As a RULE I never invite anybody with higher level than me in PVE. Takes away from the fun. The Droknar runners that need that high level armor to succed in PvE just plainly suck anyways.

Tried Arena in Yaks Bend with a level 12 ?, but hell ruined by players with Droknars Armor. Takes away the fun.

In the WPE and first betas you actually could get into a group in PvP as a level 15 mesmer and do really well, but he he those glory days are all gone....he he. We were all pretty much learning then...oh what fun those events were....

There's a collector outside of Ventari's that collects scorched husks and gives....erm...ranger pants (I was using my ranger), AC61. I saw a bunch of other collectors in and around the Wilds as well though I'm not collecting that particular armor, preferring to wait for the Drok's druid armor.
