Fiery Sword Drops?

Alright I'm erked again. I am taking my character through ascension and on the Elona mission where you reassemble the shards, I have had a serious bug repeatedly. I did the mission and bonus, no problem there. My issue is with a specific drop.

First time I did this mission with a friend from my FPS clan. I nailed an "Enchanted Sword" and he drops the sword I have been looking for for AGES. It's the sword that Rurik uses. It did like 16~20 damage. However, it was assigned to my friend who can't use it. No biggy, I can do the mission again, right?

I went through that damn mission over twenty times last night, both helping others through it and soloing with henchmen. Apparently it won't drop with henchmen, and with other players it REFUSES to drop it for me! I had it drop probably close to a dozen times and not once did I get it. WTF do I have to do to get it?! I am SERIOUSLY feeling cheated out of my long sought-after goal. I mean this is probably the biggest disappointment to date. I know the sword is rare, but damnit if I stay up until 7am trying to get one and it will either drop for allies (who either won't give it up or ask insane amounts of cash for it) or just not at all, I should get SOMETHING. The last three or four runs it stopped showing up at all.

So, how cna I force the game to act right? I mean I'm ready to write a bot to go into that mission and do it over and over until it has that item. It's just freaking wrong to show somebody what they've wanted the whole f***ing game and continually assign it to others or not allow you to get it period.

The firey dragon swords are a rather random drop like most drops in the game. Even max damage ones aren't THAT rare though. Try using the trade channel in either old ascalon or lion's arch. The lion's arch zone is the generaly accepted barter zone. Expect to pay around 5-10k for a max damage firey dragon sword, more if it has good mods on it. Honestly though, you should be able to find a good deal since most power gamers have moved on to newer sword envy like fellblades or the much sought after crystaline swords.

Griffins in prophets path. When i use to farm them i would get fiery dragon swords like mad, even lots of purple max dmg ones and a few golds.

Thanks bunny. See I wanted to earn the thing, not pay somebody for it. I just feel SERIOUSLY ripped-off because I worked so hard. Helped so damn many, and had so many drop, and none were for me, it was just a REAL pisser and even though I now know where I can probably find one, I am extremely angry because of all the unrewarded work I did last night.

I will go abck to those griffons and stay there for an hour or two. See when I went through there, they didn't drop ANYTHING, so it may have been nerfed.

Going back to those griffons is a good idea, because they drop a lot of dragon swords.

Those swords aren't very sought-after, though, as you can't mod them. I'm guessing you can get a max damage dragon sword with some sort of enchantment for 1500 gold at Lions Arch. I've salvaged several after not finding any buyers. Everyone wants fellblades, fellblades, and only fellblades.

Damnit, I've been playing there since I last posted and no fire sword. I am so getting pissed with hwo the game started working since they made an economy and nerfed everything. You work your butt off and come close to death only to succeed and you still can't get jack! I swear to God this game doesn't reward you for ANYTHING.

You can buy one from 800g-2k.

Uh - the griffons aren't nerfed in any way. They still drop lots of fiery dragon swords, you've just been unlucky.
Or you've farmed there so long the drops have dried up. Try hitting some other area for a while, then return there.

Fiery dragon sword arn't all that great. neat looking, but you can't mod em. You can spend as much time as you want farming and still not get an item you have been looking for. Just trade for one with all the stuff you have found farming!

Can't find anybody with one. I'm just going to flame ANet on this one. I mean coem on, over a dozen drops and each one assigned to an elementalist or monk or even a necro. That's just wrong. I've farmed all over the desert today and not found anything. They need to increase drops again, plain and simple. I cleared the entire "Prophets Path" area the first time I was told to go there, and I managed to get two wings, a hammer (normal), and about 400 gold. Big freaking whoop. For the number of monsters in game, I'd say drops are at a 2~3% ratio, WAY too low for the player-count in GW.

Uh so you're complaining because you can't find something specific?

Fiery Dragon Swords, SUCK. Period. Go buy a max damage long sword you can get one for like 100 gold from some person.

I don't want it as a primary use thing, I want it as a show-off item. Anyway I got a max-damage dragon-sword now, and I have my normal max-damage purple shocking longsword of shelter. Thing is, both do the same damage. My purple sword does electrical damage and my dragon-sword does fire damage. Purple does +5 armor and my dragon-sword, thanks to an upgrade I'd kept, does armor +4. Both fare almost the same on the battlefield, though I wonder if the dragon-sword will do better against ice monsters.

Just fyi, no one is going to be impressed with you rfiery dragon sword. Practically every w/x has one that they carry around thinking they are uber leet.

Those things aren't that hard to come by. Ignore the fellow who said you'd have to cough up 5-10K for a max one. They realy aren't that rare or unique. You can easily get a max clean Fiery Dragon Sword for 1-2K.

As for the upgrades, you can only add a pommel, as the hilt is stuck on a permanent 'fire hilt' so to speak.

And some of us have them because we actualy have a use for them. They are excellent weapons to use in conjunction with Conjure Flame and/or Mark of Rodgort.

marhan grotto. if you step outside there is a chest which drops items i have gotten up to 6 fiery dragon swords in one day. this chest is well known and one way to make money you can make 2.6k-4k in 15 min.

In fact you'd get the exact opposite. If someone tried showing off a FDS I don't care if it's 10/10 sundering 30 life 15%>50% I'd call them a noob.

Just where do you guys find all these people trying to show off Fierys? I've certainly never had anyone claim to be any better just because they were sporting one of those things.

And I somehow doubt many noobs run around with 10/10 sundering 30 life 15%>50% swords unless they bought an account.

Anyone using a FDS is using it to look leet. Using an FDS is showing off. Or attempting to.

Gold isn't hard to get at all and yes lots of noobs ebay.

Or maybe they just like it. Not everything is some big e-penis contest.
