Best Place to hit 20
Darriths Novastar
I am 10K of experience from hitting 20 for the first time and I'm looking for suggestions on where to have that moment. Me and a guild buddy are planning on attempting to level up at the same time and I want it to be somewhere/cool/exciting/triumphant etc..
Any ideas?

Unfortunately im way back in Aurora Glade
TopGun
PvP. I love walking into the arena, hearing "OMFG WTF N00B" and then owning. Must be even better if I hit 20 after the kill.

Find a quest that Warmaster Tydus gives you in Ascalon and level when you receive the reward.

sorry to say this but IMO level 20 is pretty much a let down...it isnt that big of a deal anymore. However if your looking for a spectacular entrance into 20 then id have to agree with the guy above me...just hit the missions and go for your mirror...

Lol, I hate you all, do you want to know where I hit level 20? Do you want to know from what level? It was from level 17...I was level 17 whilst fighting the damn doppldanger, and do you know what happened? I did not even kill the damned thing and it gave me 50k xp, and I just become RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing level 20, with no one to see! i hate you all

Try exploring your way to Majesty's Rest, and defeat Rotscale's defense force there (then kill Rotscale). You might get to 20 slightly before (well, bother) or after (keep heading east, plenty of fun challenge lies ahead), but it's a nice area for it, probably the best you'll get around those parts.

I ended up hitting L20 with my nec/mez just past the gates to Kryta
I haven't even reached the end of the game yet.

I'm with zemelett, it was a letdown. I was expecting something...
Maybe like "Jackpot Winner!" from Dungeon Keeper 2 where fireworks went off and The Trammps' "Disco Inferno" started playing and everyone started dancing...
Oh well.
nooby nooby
for me my warrior/monk lvl 13 grew lvl 20 in just 3 days in draknors talus chute and good farming

I'd go with the PvP or a quest reward in a big city- that way someone else can see it when it happens!

I was thinking maybe the quest for galtroth but i really want to lvl while fighting most preferably at the death of a boss or something I'm trying to call it really close here hehe.

I just want to let you in on something, becoming level 20 does not mean you ascended.
I'm surprised how some new players reach crystal desert, fought few times just so happens he level up from 19 to 20 and shouts: "Yay I ascended..."

I hate ascending and not being level 20, then getting to dragons lair and being level 17 or other low levels :/
Oh well henchies don't complain.
Finishing the last mission would be the coolest time to hit 20 IMO.

I made it easy for my minions to win the casino just to see it more often!

why not hit 20 while standing on Galrath's corpse?
asdar
I hit 20 the first Time in Snakes Dance. Go to Beacon's Perch and get an actual group and fight your way through Lornar's, Dreadnought and Snakes on the Way to Rankor.
I've completed the game with 3 characters but to this day fighting through Lornar's at 17 was the hardest accomplishment. It took me three tries and on the winning trip I hit 20.
If you get a group that's got the backbone for the trip it's great fun.

For those wondering I hit 20 of course. It was me and a buddy and we spent 3 hours trying to kill Galrath. It was a tough fight for an E/Mo and a R/N and the rest henchies. With 60% DP and and the map in chaos cause we tried just plain running it a couple times we finally get to galrath and slaughtered him quickly and without loosing anyone. After little bit of dancing on his corpse we map traveled back to Lions Arch and simutaneosly hit accept for the quest reward! Hoooray lvl20........... Now what lol missions and pvp wooohooo!
PS. I know 20 is not asended

Yeah this sucks, and I don't know if this deserves another thread or not, but... back in the first week of Guild Wars being released, there were LOTS of us doing Glint's cave at level 18-19 and finding a group was never a problem, and we'd go on to finish Thunderhead Keep in one or two tries, etc. etc. etc. Now, after going through all the missions to get to Ascension, I think I'll be hitting Glint's cave as a level 18 and I know I won't find a group just because of my level. Mind you I made it there via PUGs and hnechies and I have less than 15 deaths after doing all missions and bonuses. To make matters worse I'm a Mesmer/Ranger so I got another strike against me in the eyes of the elite.
My advice? Best place to hit 20 is before Ascension. Less headache later on.

I hit 20 while pvping at Fort Koga. Which was awesome, because I did the same with my first ever character during the WPE. Should be a tradition :P
twicky_kid
if you know how to tank just kill the minos at elona mission. 100exp per kill solo and 16 of them.

My first char hit lvl 20 after the mirror battle, being lvl 17 before it. My second char also hit lvl 20 at the mirror battle, but through the XP reward (lvl 19 before). My third char is gathering dust at lvl 16 at the desert, I can't be bothered to level him up and I don't enjoy the warrior class.
Far too many people seem to overlevel at the start, it's one of the reasons why they tend to struggle past sanctum cay, because the difficulty ramps up and they can't gain any more levels to keep their advantage. As for trying to show off getting to level 20, I wouldn't bother, it's not like it's much of an achievement.
