Guild Wars Cinematics & Story

This is a random observation I made in the last BWE.

The story progresses and such, well I find it funny that the character you play has, have speaking parts. Though the mouths don't move on the characters, like they did at one point I think, it still integrates YOUR personal character into the story. [At the point having to run into the portal to escape the Charr with Rurik, my character finally spoke, it was funny, me and my BF busted up laughing, all I said was "That was close"]

Anyway... I was thinking this over a few times...

We're all apart of the story like a giant army, only well, not.

I dunno if anyone else has done this, but as I play through GW with my reset character and such, I'm going to create a background story of her life, starting before the searing, and apparently the searing happens two years after the Pre-Searing, well area. You know what i mean.

I'm going to start with her childhood and work it up through the story and put in various fights and battles exactly how I execute them and incorporate people I play with and such.

Just a sort of Fanfic of sorts. Guess this isn't that original but I want to do it because I find it funny and great that we're integrated into the story rather than pushed out like in some video games. [Where our personal character doesn't necessarily doa nything but stand off screen or something. I can't think of any examples at the moment...]

But yeah... thats my idea and just noticing of the game...

Absolutely other people do this. Not everyone, of course, but there are quite a few of us out there. Personally, I already have something of a story-arc in mind for each of my characters, including one I no longer play but is destined to return at some point, much changed by what happened while she was away. It's all rather nebulous at this point, but I develop it as I go along...

I would like to read it when your done, it sounds like a fine idea to me!

Haha.. You mean they dont talk using telekinesis? :P

I used to play this game called Tribes 2, You could set up your own little page and everything within the game! It had "T-mail" and other messageing systems. This game didnt have a montly fee either. It would be great if GW had something like this, a great place for a back story for a charecter like that.

Sure! I'll post up my stories here, or well, in an appropriate place, I'll look around which forum a story post would be appropriate. Not sure where but I would put all the little chapters and bits in one thread so you guys can read them and such.

Going to start work on the background story here very shortly so look for it up someplace around here soon, hopefully before the release so I can start the main story along side my character itself.

No details will be spared, believe me. Writing is my life and though this iwll be a fanfic of sorts, I'll put it as true to a real life in Tyria as I can rather than a videogame.

If anyone can gimme a good heads up on where to put a Story Post thread just lemme know...

I've put a post up in the Nolani Academy of Arts and Crafts section of the forums called Guild Wars - Memoir Series. Anyone who wants to read my story or what not can go there, I posted up Chapter 1, which is really a prolouge to hold ya'll til the release when I can truly start the writing of this story that I hope will grow.

I'm just attaching them in txt format, so take a look, enjoy and I might be giving away a few items in-game with future trivia contests for those who've read the stories for the heck of it.

I'm feeling generous. I already have a contest up, giving away 150 gold to the first person who can give me the right answer...
