I found my first black dye yesterday and I've been playing this through all the beta weekends and WPE. I was amazed.

Hm, I think you just got lucky. So far, on my Me/N Miirak, I constantly get dye drops, although they're mainly orange and green. Be happy you have some now, since it seems that the black dye disappeared altogether off the dye trader's sell list. :P

its true actually. there have been a few days where they wasn't actually a black dye to buy. since they only sell the dyes that players sell to them, you can assume that people are using the dyes now more frequently than before. So that's why on some days black dye prices have even jumped to 10k per. people are not hording them exactly, they are just using them. black dyes are now to precious to just sell to a npc. they either use them, or sell them to a player so THEY can use them.

Actually they seem to drop erratically for megot 1 black yesterday for 5 total blacks
so far my best was a double drop from a mob which gave me a black and a silver
next best was a double silver drop from the same area and no i wont tell as it has already been nerfed twice
i only got red and blue there yesterday with the black coming out of the blue from a group that has never dropped dye before

GREAT! Didn`t play last night and am at work till 6:30. I played the E3, WPE, and all but 1 WEE and I`ve seen 1 Silver that I got last week. Never seen a Black.

I only had a black dye drop once for me, and that was in the first week of release in pre searing.

When i first started playing a few months back i got a black dye drop in pre searing, didnt know it was worth andything and dyed my armour black got to post searing and bought new armour D:

Most of the time dye drops for me it's silver or black w00t. I just dye my clothing over and over

no black dye yet.. i only get.. silver, blue, red, green or other color.. but never black dye.

In one of my previous Guilds we hoarded blacks til we had a lot then distributed them for rewards.

Actually, i got my first black in around 800+ hours of gameplay in a group with 7 henchies. Maybe drops have increased, but i don't really have a past to base it on.

Hmm. I think you're right. Rare as hell for me. We're talking < 10 ever in my presence and only 3 to me, since 3-4 BWEs before launch. It's been hundreds of hours since I've seen a black dye drop.

I picked up two black dyes in the past two days, having never seen one before. Now I don't know what to do with them, because some say you can't make anything selling them to traders, others say you can't get anything for them from other players. So I guess they'll just sit in storage for a bit.

Damn, I wish I realized at the time how rare black dye was. My ele is completely decked out in black/silver blend.

I only play about an hour a day if that so I dont expect to find to many dyes, but my main chr. has only found about 3 or 4 black. then I started a seconed chr. and at level 1, I walked out of the city gate and the first 2 skales I killed droped a black and a silver. I couldnt belive it(course, hes lvl 8 now and in postsearing and I have found only 1 dye(blue) since then...LOL)

black is very common to me i found 5 straight im my dye farming area :P (during 2 trys) but i gave them to my friend for his armor........(i forgot how much they were worth at that time 13k -_-)
