I think I have made a lifetime 4k and I really dont find success in this little amount of gold. I would like to know how so many people can get so much gold? It is driving me insane how people can afford 60k armor and such.

How long have you been playing the game. It usually takes quite a while to amass a lot of gold unless you can find some REALLY good drops.

I`ve made roughly 40-50k. I have about 27k in storage right now. I try to be thrifty, I`ve bought a couple of swords, some good priced dyes and a few hard to get crafting items. I bought armour in Ascalon, Yaks Bend, and Lion`s Arch. I got the collectors armor in Druid`s Overlook/Ventari`s Refuge and the Crystal Desert. I`ve quit salvaging everything but Runes and Upgrades.I know some people salvage and wait for the market to get ripe, but I sell and get on down the road. I identify everything. I made a little on the collector items for the 2 free armors. Now when I get an extra 1k I put it back in storage. I made a good chunk going out Amnoon Oasis into Phrophet`s Path with the 2 Healers, kill everything to the first teleporter and go through. On the other side run through the Stormy Eyes down to thr right into the green valley. There are several chests and barrels. This is not a great run barrel/chest wise but you get some gold and stuff to sell. Really don`t do much else but play and kill, not much of a farmer.

only buy what you need not what you want (dye comes to mind )

i do low level farming for materials like furs to add some money

just reached riverside and have 280 plat in storage
