Ranger/Necro or Ranger/Mesmer - PvE

Hey all, i was just wondering about which would be the better class for PvE. I was thinking about a ranger/necro to raise an undead army or something like that; or a ranger/mesmer so i can steal mana from things because of the rangers lack of mana. If i can get some advise, that would be great. Thanks alot.

Ranger/Necro is 'probably' better, but for none of the reasons you've suggested. Instead what a Ra/Ne can do is mass physical attack debuffs with Shadow of Fear and Enfeebling Blood, neutralising otherwise overwhelming odds.

Ranger/Mesmer has an easier time shutting down casters, but archers and melee mobs usually outnumber the caster variety.

Would being an all out ranger be of any benifit?
