Armor for a level 14 Warrior?

I was just wondering if I should upgrade from my current combination of Ringmail armor found from collectors and the armorer in Ascalon to the Gladiator set from Lion's Arch.
It's been awhile since I upgraded, but I wanted to make sure I won't be wasting my gold and materials on armor I don't yet need.

I've not bothered with upgrading from the 30 AL Ascalon set due to no reason to pay for a new set for 9 more armor, I just get the Collectors in Maguuma/Desert, then I get Droknars/15k.

And the 15k is the best possible set, right?
I think I'm gonna go with Gladiator armor no matter what, because I want the energy boost.

15k is purely for the looks, it has the same stats as the armor at Droknars.
