Found it. And a lovely vacation spot it is...well, except for the phantoms.

Of course, it would have been easier to find if the historian had said northeast instead of southwest!

Kind of like the Abaddon's Mouth bonus, where the ghost says an island to the east, yet the goal is to the west on the same island you are on.
