This thread is pointless because Guild Wars is about team skill and not about time played. Wait a minute...

/age

You're still hundreds of hours from UAS.

The /age command was re-reset with the correct numbers, so that number is accurate.

Good thing Diablo 2 didnt have such a command. I wouldnt have enjoyed looking at "You have played this character for 10000 hours in 5 years"

I definatly dont know what life is about, but I do know Guild Wars is not life! And some of you have made it that. Not all of course, but you know who you are. I like the games that state at the beginning everytime you login not to forget REAL LIFE. I still dont think playing games will get you anywhere in life execpt your moms basement working at Dairy queen for minium wage, no education, no future, and no retirement. I have seen it alot. Just trying to get people to understand games are fun, but thats all they are. Unless your learn to make them, produce them and maintain them, they are worthless in the long run and do nothing but kill time. Guild wars is a great game, I love it, but if you really believe 700 hours in three months (thats 8 hours a day EVERY DAY!) is a good thing to be doing ANYTHING you need to really re-evaluate you priorities.

hmm.. and maybe that's what some people want. life i meant to be lived. for some people, playing games is living life. for others, it's becoming a major lawyer or something. its all about perspective. you can't in any way shape or form dictate how people should run their lives.

Heh, I got a girlfriend. I live with her. I got a job as well, as for excersize, that's taken care of by the job. Paper runs Pays crap all, but it's a job at least, plus it looks good on your resume. I do however have pale skin. Sensitive eyes and I get major headaches alot, sunlight isn't exactly one to avoid headaches from. So I tend to stay out of the sun as much as I can.

20.5 hours a day for 60 straight days, **Throws the flag** anyone else find that a load of crap? Unless you admit to leaving it turned on 24/7 I have to honestly say not possible. College party freaks dont sleep that little.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing how many hours you've spent in-game since you got it, it's not "spam" it's not irrelivent, some people just don't care. Others have nothing better to do and enjoy comparing times and discussing things like that.

I've got somewhere along 550 hours, been a while since I checked.

Heh, I remember someone done a topic like this within the first 18 days. I said 500+ hours which is physically impossible 24x18. It's funny to see the people that actually believed me XD

Those numbers are NOT correct for me. It lists only the time I have played in the last 2 months, and I've been playing GW for longer than 2 months. I bought the game & created my account and 1st logged into GW on 30th April. That's around/over 3 months of playing, and my /age command only shows the time I spent in the past 2 months

If you could extract percentages of time from the base number for specific activities (afk, arena, missions, EA, tombs, gvg, guild hall, major towns, etc.), only then would there be some basis for comparision, hence something of interest to see/discuss. As it is merely a total of hours logged in...well, I just don't see the purpose.

Or, if someone says "I've unlocked all the elites and done <90 hours", or "3 chars on account ascended with all missions done < 60 hours.", I might see how it would give someone else a measure/marker that they themselves might try to achieve.

But otherwise, its just pointless forum spam.

And yes, my request not to have it posted is just as valid as you posting. I can't stop you and nor can you stop me. It's merely a request to attempt to appeal to peoples sense of intelligence to 'raise the bar' of what actually is posted and discussed in these forums...versus the normal drivel you can see posted on TGH for example.

Well you're right, you can't stop people from posting and discussing things when they enjoy doing it.

So why try? Isn't this post, in this thread, then as pointless as the thread itself the way you view it?

I wouldn't mind more defined time though, I've got 550+ hours and about 340 of them are on one character, with whom I've changed secondary professions 6 times, and unlocked all the normal skills with all professions except monk and warrior, the two characters I rarely ever play all on that one character. I'm pretty proud of that. Also he looks badass. That I'm proud of as well.

I think it depends very much on ones definition of life.
I like it, when threads get philosophical, though it usually means, that it's getting off-topic too.

There are games that have an educational character. Are those worthless too?
All the games you played in nursery, ground-school etc. They've been worthless?
What about the fun, that a game can add to your life? Worthless?

You're judging again.
I'm not a member of any church of other religious institution, but I do like to quote "Don't pass judgment onto others, or else you'll be judged"
