was up everybody ok, everytime I try to play guild wars on my comp it crashes and restarts my comp this is getting ver annoying my specs are everything that the game requires exept for my graphic card its a geforce 2 planing to upgrade it soon but I still want to play the game now what can I do??
Terik Stoermshade
Well, I'm not the Video Card expert, but (as you know) yours does not even meet the minimum specs. While this game is not particulary hardware-intensive, your lower end equipment may require some special manipulation to even get the game to run.
I would suggest posting your complete computer specifications as well as driver versions. That way some of the hardcore techhies here can have a staring point to make suggestions.
EDIT: I would also suggest doing a search for GeForce2 in this forum -- I tried it and got a pretty good list of threads that might be helpful.

Is your graphics card on the list of supported graphics cards for Guild Wars?
Also, try throwing in some punctuation and grammatical structure in your post, try to use proper English. (It helps with the reading.)

we'll need a complete list of specs for your computer.
Most importantly Motherboard, CPU, Video Card(drive versions as well), and PSU.
It would help greatly if you could tell us at what point during the game it crashes on you. and what, specifically, you mean by "crash". Does the game freeze(ctrl+alt+dlt will allow you to end the process, does the computer shut down, does the entire computer lock up...

spec:
Intel (R) pentium(R) 4 cpu 1.60 GHz
256 MB of RAM
GeForce 2 MX/MX400 Driver Version 5.1.2001.0
thats all I know about my comp if you need anything else just explain how I could find it And I will try my best to look for it. about my problem: it doesn't freeze or anything like that at all it just shuts down my comp and restarts it again if I walk around town. It mostly does it when I try to get out of town.

bare minimum RAM....and I don't think your video card is supported.
but what you are explaining sounds like a power problem. Open up your case and look in the top corner opposite side of your drive bays.(front of the case) You'll see a silver metal box with a fan casing in the side(most of the time)...on that case there will be a sticker(you might need to pull the PSU out of the case if it's on the inside) Look at the label and tell us what the Wattage is and what the +12 volt rail and -12 volt rail says.
ps...turn your computer off before doing this.

Do you have recent video card drivers?
What's the version of system components (DirectX version)?
What windows version do you run on (XP, 2000, Me, 98)?
Those blackouts can have many causes.
I tried GuildWars on a PC, that had Windows 2000 and had severe problems getting the game to run (restarts, drops to desktop). My main box has Windows XP on it and all is well.

-12 volt is 1.0a. and +12 is 14.0a and it's 250w Max

if I put 1 gig of ram and get a geforce 4 card will it fix alot of the problems??
sledgeunderhill
First, get a can of compressed air and make sure that there's no dust clogging the CPU cooler, videocard, and power supply.
To answer your question about the possible upgrades, the ram will help, the video card will also help, you will still need to get a bigger power supply, at least to drive the video card. For that setup, get a 350W power supply.
Additionally, note that your CPU is relatively underpowered for this game. However, I've had satisfactory performance with an AMD 1900+ with 1Gb ram and GeForce Ti4200 - and 350W power supply.

so what would be my best bet to get a bigger power supply ?
Algren Cole
Antec...I wouldn't use a power supply from anyone else....
you're gonna need a new power supply if you upgrade your RAM and video card anyway...so I'd start by upgrading the Power Supply and seeing if it fixes your problems...if it doesn't move on to RAM..then video card.
