Black dye changes value constantly. It will be 12k in the afternoon and 4.5k at night. Due to the number of people on guild wars I think you would have to have more than 500 to cause a major price drop.

I've played 430 some odd hours on all characters, seen 2 black dye dropped, neither of them were mine. both of them were when I had <100 hours.
