Which is better?

Best fully wrapped and headed staff or best wand and focus item?

For PvE it's really your own personal preference. Using one or the other isn't going to win or loose the mission for you.

In PvP you'll want to carry both. I tend to carry the staff then switch to wand/foci when I need emergency energy.

Note that I play a monk so it might be different if you're an elementalist.

It's generally up to you. A golden staff should give you +10 energy, whereas a rod will not. A staff is 2-handed, so you can't carry any secondary items (e.g. ankhs and the like); whereas in a rod you can.

So, like I said, its pretty much a personal style. I'm using a two-handed staff as of now, which I find to be quite adequate

Sorry, ready your post a little carefully. I'm using a rare defensive dead staff of smiting, so I get the +10 energy, +5 armor(vs physical), and +1 smiting (9% chance) and like I said, I find this an extremely useful staff. However, I am looking for a good smiting rod so I can use an item in my second hand.

The staff can only have +15 energy max, wheras a wand/focus can have 17 (without mana degen). However, staffs can be upgraded, so it really depends on what you have that is better.

I do what Sarus does. I usually use my upgraded staff first. And continue to use that through out the battle. But if things ever get really bad and I am in desperate need of about 30 energy or so. I switch over to my wand and cesta to get that quick boost in energy. But I only do that in emergencies, because once I use that 30 energy, I will only have +2 energy regen to get it back, so then I have to wait even longer before I can cast a spell.

But as always, it is always preference.
