Price of Ectoplasm on US servers?

Could one of you wonderful American players please tell me the typical price of Ectoplasm on the US servers?

About 9k.

The other day I saw it at 17k.....but thats the highest I've ever seen it. Typically it's around the 13k mark (give or take a platinum or two)

Which begs the question-why? What can you do with it? Collectors looking for it?

When do we get it (if at all)?

I'm only in Lion's Arch at this point and haven't seen it so I assume it's more towards the end of the game.

The ecto is for Fissure armor, and since everyone wants Fissure armor and it rarely drops, the price is high. It drops in Fissure and UW I think.

Yeah...I need like a hundred of those bad boys for my Monk's Fissure armor. Needless to say, I doubt I will ever be able to afford it if the globs are 17k each

Ok, so taking into account those contradicting answers what is the lowest price that the trader fluctuates to? I was led to believe that ecto goes for around 10-11k on the US servers.

The reason I'm asking is this: should the price of ecto be around 10-11k on the US servers would someone be willing to acquire it for me? You get the ecto and I pay you the cost plus something extra for your efforts. I'm not a scammer or anything but even if I was you'd still have the ecto to sell to whoever else.

if you watch the trades long enough, you can probably get them for 10-11k each.
