Expert Salvage Runes

For twice now, I failed to extract the rune out of my old armor. I used expert salvage kit and only got tanned square hides from my warrior armor (from both collector and crafted). Just bad luck, or am I am dumbass for doing something wrong?

I've lost minor vigar rune, which is not big deal, and a major damage absorbtion rune which is ouchie. hopefully I'll get another damage absorbation rune soon.

When salvaging from your own armor, its always luck.

its just luck mate. same if you try to salvage an upgrade from a weapon.you might get the upgrade or you might get a few iron ingots

Heh. Tell me about it. I just found a really good bow upgrade, which I was all excited about. I was going to use it on my Ranger's bow, until it disintegrated into a few pieces of wood. That was mildly irritating.

When I change armour, I tend to get a 50% success rating when extracting runes from my old armour. Which is why whenever I find a rune that I'm currently using on my character, if I intend to change armour at some point in the future I stick it in storage, just in case it gets ripped to shreds...

Better than buying them, anyway.

I got 8 Iron Ingots from a Gold +30 Health Hammer
Pissed me right off, at least I unlocked it for Pvp though.
