Hammer-axe-sword

this question has prolly been asked alot but im new so i dont know which one is the best? they prolly all have advantages if so what are they?

when im playing guild was a little Z or a lightning bolt pops up in the top rigyt corner nextr to hte mini map whats does this mean?

hammer = pvp knockdown spike dmg, slow attacking though
axe = pve/farming, higher max dmg, wider dmg range, nice because of cyclone axe(pretty much only wide area attack for warrior--hundred blades just doesn't compare)
sword = ???? i never really found any outstanding benefit to swords except the cool look and the constant damage but i still use it, has the fastest attack rate ( i think )

Hammers have the largest damage range and are typically used to knockdown, blind, weaken, and interupt enemies.
Swords have a moderate damage range and the generally fastest attack speed, used for easy bleeding, crippling, and easy chain combos with a finishing move to top it off.
Axes have the widest damage range with a low low, and a high high, there are two types of axes to my knowledge, battlepicks which attack slower but give piercing damage meaning more armor piercing, and salshing axes which generally attack faster. Axes have all around uses, as their skills can interupt, deep wound (-20% max hp), cripple, as well as area affect damage(cyclone axe)

Interupt, spike damage, knockdowns = Hammer
Sword = nice energy attacks (bleeding), energy attack cripple.
Axe= same a sword but no bleeding, weakness though. Higher critical hits.Some interupt.

ps sword has the nicest looking wepon in the game,, the dragon sword...it has its balde on fire...nice effect.

basically, yes. you can buy one sword for 30K and another sword with the exact same stats for 500K.

hammer is powerful, knockdown, and slow.
axe has an AoE attack that actually helps (hundred blades...not ok...), and has a high critical hit
sword has plenty of bleeding and deep wound, a great finisher, cripple, and fast attacking. and they just all look so darn cool.

sword rocks, unless you're going griffon farming/somewhere else-farming where 8 or 9 or 10 mobs surround you, then cyclone axe>you. i havent used my axe for anything but that. i've tried, but i just can't.

I used sword basically up until a week or two ago, when I discovered the beautiful damage of axes. It may seem like it has a low/high average but if you have high axemastery, decent armor penetration while using a skill, it has a consistent enough high damage ratio to be considered the best in the game for warrior. This coming from a swordsman who fought tooth and nails that sword was the best "all around azzkicker stick" for warriors. I admit, I was mistaken. It has the same attack speed as sword, does less highend damage than hammer but can really, really dish out damage.

people people axes and swords have same attack speed... do a search on it

i would say axes can definitely spike better than hammers, considering all the damage they have. (go axes!)

I used to use swords... then I got too annoyed at the sheer number of non-bleeding critters so switched to axe and never looked back :P

The thing about swords is the skills rely either a lot on whether the opposition can bleed or not... or you having the energy to use :P

Now I only have 3 energy attacks on my W/Mo .. and only ever use 2 of them regularly. the other atatcks I use are all adrenaline based. And frankly, with Glad armor and only 2 energy skills I run out of energy way too fast as it is.... so noooooo to swords energy reliance

Axes deal plenty of damage, and their accompanying attack skills are amongst the most potent in a Warrior's arsenal, and some of them include interrupt skills. Axes are one-handed, meaning you have your other hand free to either hold a shield or straighten your hair, whichever you want. However, in my experience, axes have the least consistent damage of all three of the weapons.
If you're worried about appearances, battle axes give you that 'berserker' look that's simply unmatched. All you need is a longboat and a horned helmet and you've got it made.

Swords are the middle-ground. They deal moderate damage, they are moderately consistent, and their attack skills deal moderate damage. Like axes, swords are one-handed, so you have your other hand free to either hold a shield or touch yourself when no-one's looking, depending on how weird you are. Sword skills might not be the most potent in regards to raw damage potential, but they are excellent for inflicting conditions on your opponents.
Some people say that swords look the best of the three, and with such offerings as the Fiery Dragon Sword, the Butterfly Sword, and the Crystalline Sword, they may be right. The sword is the traditional weapon of the olde times warrior, after all. A little unoriginal perhaps, but who's going to argue with you after you've slashed their throat and spilled their blood all over the shop?

When I play with my Warrior character, I personally opt for the sword in most instances, as I'm just a sadist who likes to make people hurt before I finish them off. But I always carry around a decent axe and a decent hammer, just in case I decide to re-spec and go nuts a little.
