Well this is a bit of a spin off of one of my previous ideas on a new arena:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ighlight=arena
Anyways, this would be a new arena area.
So a game room would be started by one person who would pay like 1k or something to start a room (limit gratuitous rooms and give that person admin rights)
The person who starts the room will beable to set the parameters of the rooms that may or may not include
+ Password Protect?
+ Auto-balance teams each 1-5 rounds
+ Bots?
+ Set Professions able to enter arena
+ how maps are selected
+ Level restrictions? (only level 20 or something)
A person trying to enter a room would see a list of open rooms much like Warcraft or Starcraft and can filter rooms based on a certain criteria (autobalance on? password protected? open slots?) Joining games should be free but the admin has the right to kick players.
When the admin leaves he can either pass the room onto a player or he can disband the room.
I think this would be nice to let a good medium to play with or against friends w/ out having to be a in their guild.

I like the idea for the purposes of playtesting and hanging out with guild. limiting profs sounds bad, so don't support that.(altough they join the room, so their problem really)

I don't quite see what your reason is for this since you can pretty much choose your team for PvE, PvP (certain arenas), and GvG.

The reason would be so that you could choose who you play against. In Droknar's you can choose your own team, but not your opponents. It would be nice to try and maime your buddies in PvP rather than chancing a battle with people who are no where near your level of play.

This would be a fine thing, essentially opening up Guild Wars for the opportunity to be played more like LAN party games. It's not trivial, but expanding the kind of gameplay a game supports is a powerful thing.

Yeah i agree, also would be a great place to meet new people. I think it would be a VERY powerful tool allowing for people to customize their PvP experience and you don't need the structure of a guild to play either. Kind of a more accessible pick up and play arena (esp if auto-balance is incorporated [which I think is VERY important])
