Just bought Guild Wars but.....

I bought guild wars today and have installed it and I’m ready to play , the only problem is that after trying all my usual names, ones from other games (final fantasy ect), using Google search and even asking my little brother for "warhammer" names (yes I know Omg warhammer names) every single one is taken, so as a last option I though I might as well try my real name and guess what, it was also taken . Also my friend bought the game the same time as me and he’s steaming ahead now due to me being unable to get a name

Basically I would just like to know if you guys can help me out as I bought the game about 2 and a half hours ago now and want to just play the damn thing before I get sick of it and it gets boxed up with the other mmorps that I no longer play.

You are including a first and last name correct.

If so and can't get an acceptable name, try being creative and making up your own name, that isn't in another game.

I recommend something like Pale the Magnificent

Make your name backwards, that always works.

The game has been out for a while, and there are a lot of players, and I bet many played Warhammer. So don't be put off if those names are taken.

Try different combinations of a name, or use the name of a game character then have the last name be something that relates to the game. Be creative.

One of my favorite things to do is look up old languages, Like Old Germanic, or the old Norse dialects, etc.. and Just search through till I find something I like, most of the good sites list what the name means as well.

I like to use www.babynames.com and adapt them, plus you can search by the meaning of the name, so you'll have that little bit of knowledge to yourself

The thing that makes this hard is that EVERY other mmo that I have ever played only requires one name - which is easy and anyone can come up with one but a first and second name is hard

I've been naming all my characters by looking up famous scientists and mathematicians on the internet, grabbing two of their surnames, and voila! Instant name for a character.

You could try doing the same, use artists, composers, explorers whatever.

If that fails, there used to be a random daemon name generator somehwere on the Games Workshop website. Try finding that and seeing if you can get some names out of that.

There was an old game named Ragnarok (aka Valhalla) in the early DOS/Windows 95 times, that featured a character name generator. Do not confuse with the current MMORPG, that game rocked!

It generated quite nice names .. including "Vaskrist", that my brother uses as his nick since then ...

I like weird names that have a little bit of irony to them, hence my name here and in game. Things like,

The Religious Atheist

These i find the most entertaining.

I am a warhammer player and I use names from the game and many of my names come from movies one of my names are Van Carstein Van from VanHellsing, my favortie movie and Carstein from Manfred von Carstein The Vampire Count who destroyed half of the Empire

What I usually do to find a name, I bash on my keyboard and fill the letters with vowell to create something... possible It's how I did Narius Raltek

The real downside is trying to remember it

Try something like Dark Wind or Silent Assassin. Those are very unique and probably aren't taken.

My friend called himself "Izual von Carstein" but i would rather stay away from warhammer names if possible
