Looks like both first and second place was mixed gender teams. I'd have guessed it was pure male teams.

korea has a similar release date as us. they just had a special event/tourny.
And in korea gaming is much more popular and there for has much more females playing.

More woman play than you can imagine. My ex-wife was a verteran gamer and so is my current girlfriend (met her playing counter-strike).
23 or the 50 people in my current EQ2 guild are woman as well as 70% of my friends list in DAoC. The best NightShade in DAoC on my last server was a woman (and very very attracitve at that).
As far as gaming being more popular in Korea, well.. it's more "social" but not more popular. The big dollars for companies are still in the US.

Sorry bout the dense comment. Didn't mean to be so harsh. As far as Korea goes, internet cafee's are all the rage. Men and woman spend a lot of time there playing games. That's probably why 2 million + Koreans play Lineage 2. We can only hope this game catches on as well as the Lineage Series.

well. from the screens too. its interesting that theres no presented table with even 2 females at the same table. ( i dont know the language, so they might have had a purpose for each screen, like clan/guild specific info.)
i would say that the guilds here are male-dominated.(from the screens.)

Wow... After watching that, I fell in love with GW all over again. I pray that we get tournaments like that in the US... That was really, really cool...

Jesus, Koreans are just....jesus, everytime I did Tombs the last BWE I was scared about facing Koreans, they're just....they like never sleep! They can't live without mastering a game!! We won against one korean team tho, probably those who didn't sleep for 3 days...

Loved when the guild got the win, the flames on the stage were shooting up. That is just way awesome! I also think it's really cool that people will pack an auditorium just to watch other people play. Wow neato!

I wondered about it too when i 1st saw the pics.
but again like many clans that goes to a tourney (i.e CAL counterstrike, etc), that is prob the 1st time they've met face2face.
I did think some ppl looked kinda shy. some ppl were in a "waiting mode" w/ crossed arms or "wandering eyes" w/ no eye contact from each other at all.
hehe. thats just me, from observing the screens.
