ok so me and a friend are starting a new character combo (also referred to as DUO) so we're trying to decide on a duo...any suggestions? were not gonna do warrior and a monk, not enough damage
EDIT= were each doing a character, we had a duo, each level 15 he was warrior i was monk, but we got eaten alive by those dumb fire imps...so we decided i needed to do damage too oh and also he is a war/ele and im mo/mes
EDIT: well what we were thinking is wa/mo and ele/mo for a little of those healz but also more damage, i have 1 question, my monk is all out healing, something like
13 healing (i have 11 just 2 mods)
6ish divine fav
and then a couple of extra...
#1: should i max divine after healing or just get it to 3 or so...
#2: if i maxed divine and healing that leaves me with 6 points...where should i put those 6
#3: should i redo my secondary to warrior since the only spell i use from mes is that energy steal one and i dont use that often
THANKS in advance

Elementalist / mesmer maybe?
it all deppends on what you want to do with your character.
set traps? disrupt? nuke? disease? etc etc,
and monks can do a lot of damage if played well.

The pbaoe elementalist and monk duo is the best there is.
Also, I've duo'd with many a warrior with my monk on late game missions, and have never been at a loss for damage. I usually tell them beforehand to lose any defensive skills/spec they might have (things like healing or defensive earth skills) because I can keep them alive, and to go all out offensive.
With warrior, I'm pretty sure axe is the only viable spec until you get hundred blades. AOE attacks are mandatory if you're the offensive side of a duo.
Warriors are THE dps class in guild wars, don't let past games alter your judgement in this respect. As long as you have condition removal on the monk, the warrior will outdamage almost any other class you could take, except *maybe* elementalist.

If you want a cookie cutter duo, take W + Mo or El + Mo. You can easily duo your way to the desert (or even ascension if you take it slowly) with henchmen. After the ascension you may need human players, although I know a couple of players who have soloed their way through Volcanic Island.

Don't give up because of the Fire Imps. I don't know about anyone else but they got me and my warrior friend our first time through as well but they're not that difficult to defeat.
Now is the point in the game where you need to start playing smarter, no insult intended at all. When you face the imps you need to look at the groups of them and get them in single groups. You, as the monk need to learn to stay way back and now's the time to start experimenting with protection. Shielding hands, Life Bond and even reversal will benefit you greatly.
Like the Hydra's Imps damage is front loaded meaning they hit you hard but then fade out. You have to know how to limit the damage and then beat them down without adding new groups. If you learn this lesson the rest of the game is easy. If you change professions to avoid learning it you'll always be bumping into that certain monster that has your number.
Sorry to get up on my soap box.
If you're determined to start over I'd go Ele/Nec or Ele/Mo, they're good right through the end game, and warrior with any secondary. War/Mo is the easiest to play and it's always pretty good even if they have a bad rep.

E/W ftw. dps as well as the AOE's make it a killing machine.

If you think a monk warrior combo can't do a lot of damage, you're wrong. take a look at this thread.

Of course at lvl 15 you may not have all those skills, but if you plan well, you can do a lot with a monk.
