Vault Space and Location

I mentioned this in the April Beta ideas but wanted to see what other people think.

I think we need increased Vault storage due to the large number of items in the game, as well as having a Vault in Pre-Searing.

The reason I think Pre-Searing needs a vault is because after you have played a while, it's sort of pointless to have to be so weak in Pre-Searing EVERY time you make a new character. It'd be nice to be able to give a decent weapon to the character just to help speed things up.

The main reason this was a concern to me was because I had a very hard time finding a bow for my archer and a sword for my warrior in pre-searing, and I already had some equipment for these characters in my vault and couldn't access it yet.

there should also be a special place just for all those crafting items you find that is extra with the vault.

If you're refering to having seperate tabs to sort things out, then I agree.

i personally think the vaults are WAY too small...maybe have a way to BUY extra space...say 50 coins a week or something? like renting storage space

I definately think that you should be able to buy more vault space. It should cost an increasing amount per upgrade though... like 100 gold for the first 10 slots, then 150 gold to upgrade to 15, eventually hitting something like 5000 gold for a final upgrade of 50ish slots. Ya, 5000 gold seems like a lot when you are first playing, but once you reach about level 15, you have more gold than you know what to do with. 0_o

I have to disagree with vault swapping though. Vaults should be mapped per charecter, not per account. This game is supposed to be challenging people.

If you have a sword on one charecter that you want for another charecter, just get through the searing and have one of your guildmates hold it for you while you switch charecters. :P

A small vault in Pre would be useful too.

Not everyone has "Guild Mates" to help transfer items.

In my opinion the vault idea is a great one that was implemented.
How you can acess it through multiple characters is smart.

People will find a way to transfer items no matter what, but if its easy then you save the player some hassle.

If I create a character and find a bunch of cool stuff for another character i plan to make, i dont wanna have to call a friend to come help , JUST so i can use the items/equipment in pre-searing Achelon..

Look at it this way...

-People want a larger vault that can be access'd through any character you make, in any major town (including PRE-SEARING ACHELON).

PLEASE Devs make this happen!

I definately don't agree with adding the vault to Pre. So you earn your Godly Weapon of Godliness (which, in this game, doesn't amount to much, but it's huge in Pre-Searing) in Post-Searing, and you send it to Pre. First off the Academy becomes unbalanced because characters that have gotten their Godly Weapon of Godliness will have an unfair advantage over people just starting out. Then the already ridiculously easy Pre-Searing becomes totally absurd.

Really, I don't consider Pre-Searing taxing on anyone, if you really can't stand it you can always go to the Academy early and PvP to level up later on. They improved the drops this last weekend as well, with loads of blue weapons popping up all over the place. Pre is more about learning your character and learning how to use your skills than it is learning to rely on a good weapon.

Ok I never thought of that, but doesnt the GODLY OF GOD weapon have some sorta pre-rec? Like lvl 10 Swordsmanship ?

Anyway, what happens if you choose a second profession and then dont learn all your skills for each, then jump into the Academy.

Would you

-Not get your belt for storage?
-Never get a chance to learn those skills again?
-Get your ass handed to you in the Academy by lvl 6'ers?

There is a character vault now, you can access common storage for all of your characters if you pay 50 gold to the vault-keeper per character to open it.

Perhaps the most Godliest Weapon of All Godliness has that requirement, but even a junk bow in Post (random 10-15 flatbow with no requirements) is unbalanced in Pre.

When I said "rush into the Academy" I didn't mean to go rush in there as soon as you hit level 3, that would be suicide for Post. I meant to get there as soon as you could.

Getting all the skills for your professions is not entirely difficult. It mostly requires walking. Heck, for the Fire Elementalist part, all you have to do is stand there, the NPC does all the work. If you really hate Pre all you have to do is get the pouch (which you can buy from other players in Post or trade for Hunters Trophies at a collector in Seared Ascalon), learn your free skills, and go to the Academy. It doesn't really matter whether you win or lose the Academy anyway (unless you consider pride), since the outcome is the same either way.

I look at it this way... I have to slowly get through Pre-Searing EVERY time. Then when I get to post I get a 20 something damage weapon out of my bank and now the first 5 misisons are now easier than pre-searing. I sort of think it's pointless to have to literally suffer pre-searing longer than you have to. And even with better drops in pre-searing, that still doesn't mean I'll get a decent bow early enough to save me time in pre-searing. And even if I had someone to transfer my pre-searing items that doesn't mean they won't steal them.

Just thought of this...

Lets look at it this way.

What will we have to gain by making Pre-Seer'd Achelon Involved in the community vault?

-Everything posted above.

What will we have to lose by making Pre-Seer'd Achelon Involved in the community vault?

If new players decide to join and somehow get a 10-20dmg Sword, it will ruin the experience for them.

*Think bout it, we (Academy Completed) cant go back to pre-seering, for a lot of reasons. The main one being that it just wouldnt make sence, and also to not influence new character's games.

No Idea

Fat Sarge that yells at you in the Academy: YOU THERE, YOU WANNA DIE?

Player pulls out Dragon Sword: FEAR ME!!!!

Fat Sarge: Oh Noez, I thoughtz only the prince got one, hax0r!!!

Player Slays Fat Sarge.

I don't know, takes away the challenge anyways. Pre-Searing is about as easy as it gets. Anyone who has trouble with it beyond rushing the northern gates at level 1 definately needs to stay there longer and hone their skills. Or lack of.

the thing about vaults is, you only pay 50 bucks for it. It's a great amount of storage for 50 bucks. Also, there being so many items in the game is kind of a stupid reason. Because most of the items you get in preascalon are useless in the rest of the game. Items like scales, ingots, planks, and whatnot are used throughout the entire game. Where as things like husks and skulls and crap like that are only used in one region and you have no reason to save them.

Another thing I want to mention about storage is the fact that Weapon upgrades and Runes can take up a lot of space, as well as crafting materials.

Definetly want a lot more space, even If i got to pay for the upgrades to the vault. =)

I Agree about size being to small , but for 50g what do you expect , i mean 100g for a 5 slot bag then 500g to expand it to a 10 slot . they sould alow that for the vault to but make it a flat 5000g to increase it to 50 items .
With 50 item storage that should be enough space to hold the good loots you are waiting on selling till you finish leveling for the day . I have actualy had to choose to salvage good items , sell them to a vendor for crap , give them away , or leave a good group i had been in order to sell them cause i was out of room . Between the salvage kits an haveing about one of each salvage items , dyes you dont want to use an sell for nice amounts an good weapons from post-wilds missions you will load up fast .

I hope that people do not come and hack or bot in this game like in DII. I dont think they will but really hope they dont.

Unlike Blizzard games, I am positive that the AN crew will smite mightily any attempts by miscreants to disrupt the game. With streaming media, it's easy to spot the little defectives.
