A Mo/? farming build...

I'd really like to get into farming with my Monk. I've been told that farming higher-level areas (see: UW) requires the use of superior runes. There seems to be one gargantuan problem: I am unable to purchase a single superior monk/absorption rune due to my lack of funds.

Is there a build best suited for farming lower level areas (areas that still offer decent drops) that does not require the purchase of superior runes. Also, could you please identify the location of any lower-level area that you may mention.

One more thing: what would be the desired secondary profession for this type of thing?

I'm not sure if all of the above was very coherent...but who cares.

Thanks in advance.

secondary depends on which build you go with, not all builds require 5 sups, although the one that seems the most impressive does. You can still make good money/drops in UW going with a partner, usually a warrior, that gets the enchantments you would place on yourself when yer solo and they can take the damage and dish it out while you keep him alive. Easier and less brainracking that way.

Be careful if you do that though, Ataxes have a nasty habit of just going after you randomly......at least when I play they do.

Thanks in advance. They aren't neccesarily bought for the extra effects, but mainly for their HP Reduction purposes. Skills such as protective spirit make you take 10% of your HP max from damage and you can usually keep it on 24/7 in UW because theres no enchant-breaker mobs in UW. You can end up abusing this effect by adding HP Regeneration enchants to make you almost invincible. 5 Superior runes would make a more effective smiter but you can still use 5 major runes in replacement, just don't expect super fast-farming. Secondary-wise I'd go with warrior or elementalist.

warrior for bonettis defense is the only skill you need aside from smites to help keep you up. You can farm griffons, trolls, mergoyle, minotaurs, basically any mobs that does not shatter enchantments and does physical damage.

warrior is imo the best selection because of bonettis.
