Disrupting Chop:
Description: If it hits, this attack interrupts the target's current action. If that action was a skill, that skill is disabled for an additional 20 seconds.
And here comes the question - What are skills?
Is everything you put on quickbar skill? Glyphs and Signets included? So every thing can be interrupted by above listed attack and disabled for 20 secs?

thats not quite the answer i seek

As I understand now, everything are skills... then they are divided into attack skills (sub-division weapon types), spells (sub divisions damage, hexes, enchantments etc.), glyphs and signets... Am I right now?

In that context, skills refer to all skills.

Anything you put on your skillbar is a skill- they're the abilities you learn, regardless of if it's a signet, spell, glyph, attack skill, etc. Spell, Signet, Glyph, etc are types of skills, but they're still skills. For any of the skills that have an effect based on skill use(disrupting chop, distracting blow, distracting shot, leech signet, cry of frustration, etc), that effect triggers if their using a skill, regardless of if that skill is a spell, signet, glyph, preparation, trap, etc.... if it's an ability that they're using by activating a skill icon on their skill bar, it's considered a skill.

So why do they even bother to mention, "If that action was a skill...?"

We can assume that the action was a skill if that's all you can do lol. Unless it even interupts moving or something. Just seems confusing as it stands.

Because action includes running and regular attacking. There are skills out there that can interrupt an attack and trigger when a character is moving. They are being specific, maybe too much for you, but I like it.

Well everything in the game is a skill, but there is also the skill subtype Skill, like a Ranger's Troll Unguent. I always figured if they mentioned it specifically, it was the subtype Skill instead of every skill in the game. In this description, it interrupts current action though, so that's a sure "every skill" as in every skill in the game. But I think it would cause more recharge time if you used a Skill, like Troll Unguent, but not a Spell, like Obsidian Flame (which is also a skill, but not a Skill).

I'm not sure though, anyone?

Didn't know there was a purpose to interrupt moving if you could instantly start moving again.

By using skills that cause knockdown, specifically the skill Water Trident in the elementalist's Water Magic Attribute, there is indeed a good purpose to interrupt movement.

I have heard that the "subtype" of Skill isn't really a subtype as much as it is a grouping for all the skills that aren't in a notable subtype (hex, spell, signet, etc). This in itself gives it its own subtype status I suppose you could say.

I said interrupt movement, not cause knockdown. IF you interrupt movement, they can simply begin running right afterwards. Whereas knockdown slows the process and can lead to deep wound or the likes.
