Did you guys find Rotscale way too easy? I ran into him 3 times (once in Sanctum Cay, twice in explorable area) and every tiem he wsa way easier than I think he should be.
My first memories of Rotscale are from E3 when it was a big thing to kill Rotscale in the mountains. In this beta I find my near him and my teamkilled him and his four bone dragon friends with no problems.
I think Rotscale needs to be the uber monster that everyone tries to kill and it takes great teamwork to defeat. Right now I have a harder time with a half a dozen Magumma then with Rotscale and his four buddies. Maybe ANet has other plans for uber monsters that will become a target of PvEers who have finished all the missions.
Rotscale too easy?

Ya rotty's a joke now, we mowed him with 2 wars and a monk (and his 4 bone friends).

Ahh I remember that fiend.

I haven't seen him yet, but I'm guessing he's just the biggest, most famous pre-ascension baddie. Like all the rest, just something to test skillsets against.
I think about comments by Jeff Strain like we "haven't seen any post-ascension content yet", and I look around at the stuff hanging around Tombs, and I imagine huge areas full of stuff like that wandering around. And even tougher.
Because why wouldn't they be putting really hard mobs in? Especially in areas they haven't shown us yet, that are designed specifically for groups of 8 level 20s. PvP is always going to be the biggest challenge because it's always changing, but it wouldn't be hard to set up areas and mobs that are almost as big a challenge, if not bigger than a lot of player teams. Just crank the mobs up to 30-50 and let em roll.

I just hope that that giant desert area below the Tomb is accessible in the full release and not an expansion thing... seriously, I try EVERY event to get down into that Desert, lol.

There are a couple of named Bone Dragons lurking about here and there, but the 'big' Rotscale encounter now takes place out in the explorable areas - Majesty's Rest, to be precise. You come across him in front of a citadel surrounded by - I believe - 4 other Bone Dragons. It's a nice visual to be sure, though perhaps not as hard as it should be.
Have no fear though - there are nasties in the Post-Ascension content that would make even E3's Rotscale curl up and cry .. and that's about all I can say on that.

I have to agree 100%, met our friend Rotscale twice in the last beta and the poor thing went down way too fast. The first time our group was all excited… Hey it’s Rotscale!. I figured I better use all the power and damage my el/me can dish out, so I prep my stuff, well that was a mistake by the time I was ready to deliver (3 secs: Rodgort 2, fragility 1), he was almost down. I barely had time to hit him with one flare and phoenix.
I’m pretty sure Rotscale won’t be the toughest Mob around once release comes rolling around, just don’t think it’s possible. Same hopefully can be said for the missions, I remember *The Wilds* to be one of the toughest missions to complete in the December beta and now you can do it with your eyes closed.
I would be extremely disappointed to find out that the difficulty level and range that we have seen in the last two betas is the one that we can expect to see once full release. IMO if they want to keep pvers interested and challenged for more than a month or two, they will need to crank it up a notch.

It's probably not very fulfilling in the context of just the BWEs, but it will make for a much smoother transition to the more difficult (and trust me, they do get very difficult) missions later on.

There is a Rotscale that sometimes pops up in one of the missions in the swamp. It's easy, and a very different encounter than the Rotscale out in the explorable area.

Rotscale is just like every other boss monster currently. Ruinwing is another named bone dragon. Why is it not as famous as Rotscale? Because it did not appear in the WPE as an "end boss". It's usually the environment that it appears in that makes it dangerous. Massive mobs in Majesty's Rest and the toxic swamp in Sanctum Cay. Can't wait for post-ascension content to be available and be matched against other nasty beasties..

I just remembered where I fought rocscale... It was on that one mission where you have to steal the Scepter of Orr. He was right across a huge sludge pond, so in order to get to him and attack we had to get poisoned, for a long time. Even with that he wasnt all that hard though.

Ever since E3, Rotscale has been a newbie that is slaughterable by 1-2 people. Getting there is the trouble, but for such little worth, and at level 20, no chance of removing DP, I don't see any point in him being there.

Rotscale was a joke during E3FE too. I remember I have a screenshot of me saying "what a joke" or something after we killed him.
Granted, back then we had a party of 8 level 15s, while now people are fighting him as like 3 level 20s, or 1 level 20 and 4 level 13s.
So, it's very likely he is easier by quite a bit still. But as it was said.. it's not like he's the "final boss" or anything. In fact like spooky said, I hear there was a dragon in dragon's lair which was really cool and powerful.
