Ok so we have pretty much all seen the fall of Ascalon, Fought off the other team, and made our way of to war, only to return to a destroyed ascalon, a missing Gwen, and only you can save Tyria from the tyrany of the Shining blade, white mantle, char, undead, dragons, and Evil doers.

But...What lvl would you suggest doing it at?

I only have char at the mo, W/Ne. He is lvl 19 now, but i had this overwheliming urge to create a Ele character after seeing the awesome 15k geomancers armour. So here i am bumbling around the beautifull green hills and icey dales of ascalon, with that cute, yet slightly irratating Gwen follwing me about like flies around s*** and i am thinking "hmmmzle what lvl should i sear?" The W/Ne i seared at lvl 15 and was astounded when i got to old ascalon to see lvl 4's and 5's pottering about. (even more astounded seeing a lvl 3 at droknors forge!!).

Ok so most of it is personal preferrance i accept but what lvl do you guys think is reasonable to sear?

Thanks for the advice peeps.

You could go to Post-searing as early as level 3 and probably manage just fine. Personally I will go at level 7 or 8 with new characters.

the only way i can see people getting level 15 in presearing is because they were dye farming and just got exp on the side lmao..but seriously why? did you not know the level cap was 20?

I do as many quests as needed to get all the pre-sear skills and leave as soon as ive done that and the rez signet quest. Usually that puts me at around level 4-5 which is just fine.

Anything over 7 is wasting your time as th xp rewards tail off incredibly, and I find it hard to imagine you hadn't done all the quests by level 7 or 8 at most.

lvl 15 is very achievable, I dont farm, its mindlessly boring. And i didnt actually end up with any dyes. (being my first time). I just enjoyed it.

i'm not actually that bothered by lvl's so a lvl 20 cap doesnt bother me at all, you can still enjoy the game, explore and do stuff, if ya a lvl 20. just its easy if your a higher lvl. Seems 7-8 is a respectable lvl. thanks guys.

Unless you enjoy pre-searing, I would leave ASAP. Grab your skills and the skill point quest and get out.

The Gothic Embrace [Goth]

Actually soon after release they made it so you can leave before level 3, just need to get a secondary profession.

Get your secondary profession, get all your free skills from the skill quests, get the free skill point from Devona, and get out. You can spend more time wandering around the tutorial area but it isn't going to accomplish much.

Somewhere unexpected

To answer the question when:
- see at least 2 trainers for your primary skills and at least 2 for your secondary. Even though you could get the skills later, get them in pre-searing is easier;
- you don't need to collect all the armors you could have, but I would collect all pieces of armor as well;
- get a belt-pouch
- Feed Gwen and get from the object. Even though you don't know what to do with it.
- get the free skill point from Dewenna.

I would go at level 5-7.

Lvl. 6 is the best time to go. You'll have a foot in on the monsters in Old Ascalon, and you'll understand the whole flow of the game with the quests and everything. Leaving ASAP isn't good at all for complete beginers.
