After reading a lot of negative posts here about pick up groups (including 1 or 2 posts from me, lol), I ran with a group last night that was just absolutely amazing.
Everything was done right, no one took off on their own to have their own little adventure, no warriors (including me) started fights until everyone's energy was ready, we coordinated every attack, I even helped out the healer in the group by using my monk secondary heals and buffs on him and the party a few times. We rarely got below 50% on health. We swept thru the mission and bonus.
Very satisfying and just wanted to share.

I've been with a few very good PUGs with my W/Mo. I remember we did thirsty river in the desert and we started with a group of 6, 5 really good players and 1 total butthole. Well the Butthole left, which gave us only 5 people, and the mission is slightly difficult (imho) especially when you get to the end where the Monk Boss is. Anyway, we coordinated very well, and eventually found a way to make things work, everyone had about -30DP except for me with a 10% Morale boost. It was rough but when you get with a group that strategises and really tries, it makes a world of difference.

I did The Wilds mission a few days ago and i had a really good group. One guy even wanted to leave after we did the bonus but we convinced him to stick around. We had almost gave up when 5 of us had died, but luckily one guy got away and rezzed someone w/ ressurect. But the whole time, despite our confusion, no one ran ahead or went off on their own.

the game is very orientated around teamwork, hence the level 20 level cap. Its not like D2 where you can get lvl 99 and go pwn every monster in the game with your hammerdin
. The game is tough but with a good group that has teamwork you can do everything. Its a very nice feeling, so when you get a crappy group you feel like crap. I know the feeling. But once in a while you will get that magic group that will be truly amazing. Kind of like this one UW group I had once...

I had been in a few good PUGs for missions, esp. the endgame mission. we had no problem through that mission (no deaths) until the part where we have to kill the portal guards. At that point on we only had a few deaths. We finished the mission successfully
Good groups makes the game a whole lot easier, and more enjoyable.

I love when this happens. I almost don't like playing with a guild team, because everything tends to go too much like a machine and looses it's challenge.
Just a little bit of comfusion and the right PUG can make life really fun in the game.
I love getting done and having everyone just sit there, not wanting to leave, but not sure what to do. That's a good mission run.
