I don't know how it is in Korea or America, where favour usually lasts for days, but here in Europe, there is an increasing problem with going into the Fissure of Woe and Underworld.
Because the amount of time that Europe stays in favour doesn't seem to last an hour, EVERYBODY rushes to the ToA, and all the districts fill up with hopefuls wanting to get in on the action.
The problem is, though, that the teams that form up become seriously problematic. You'll see messages like "Party of 6 need Monk/Nuke/Trapper - No N00bs", and if you get accepted into a party, if there is even a hint that you've never been in the FoW/UW before, you're booted out without so much as a by-your leave. (and that's if you're lucky) before I got a modicum of experience, I was insulted to the point of just leaving the party - after all, what's the point of going in with a group if you can't enjoy the game with them?
I've been lucky so far. I've met up and gone in with a few gamers who understand that taking inexperienced but good people into these areas, and guiding them to the dos and donts (e.g Don't talk to the ghost until the area is cleared, good strategic trapping spots etc.) means that more people become adept at handling themselves in the FoW & UW - More people with even the smallest amount of experience means a wider choice and less waiting time whenever Europe are in favour.
To the cynic who believes that all that will happen is that some n00b will f**k up the party by aggroing every singe skeletal beserker from here to Nebraska, a simple solution is to make them pay for entry. If they know that their 1k is on the line, then they're bound to be a bit more cautious and follow instructions, and if they're good, you might find another player you can rely on when you're just a little short of a team and need that reliable trapper/healer/tank.
So if there are veterans who have attained the experience, knowledge, masses of Exp and all the obsidian shards and gold shadow bows they can carry, spare a thought for the dejected n00bs who want to join in a team - you might just find that there are good players in there!
